Beauty Product I Am Loving: Skinceuticals Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier
I am so thankful that I am able to try out different beauty and skincare products as part of my job here on RoselynWeaver.com. We get sent tons of products; some drug store prices and some a little more expensive. I am very picky on what I share with you all because I know there are so many options out there for you guys and if you are anything like me, you have spent so much money on trying new products that don’t work so it is extremely important to me to only share products that I truly love and what truly worked or works for me.
The Skinceuticals Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier has been a game changer for my skin. Especially in this brutally cold weather and the fact that my skin has been so dehydrated lately.
Why is Hyaluronic Acid important?
In general, Hyaluronic Acid is a moisture-binding ingredient that helps keep the the skin plump and hydrated. It fills in wrinkles and promotes collagen production for long lasting youthful skin.
I have been using this since last September. I started using it religiously each day, mixing it in with my daily moisturizer and even though I immediately felt a hydrating difference on my face, I started actually seeing the results about 5 days in. I don’t know about you guys, but I call that a win!
My skin type is more on the dry side but the Skinceutical site states that this product is great for all skin types: dry, oil and combination.
Because this product is a bit of a splurge I started to cut back on my daily use so that I could make the product last longer, haha. #ballinonabudget I now use it about every 2 days and mix it in with my night cream so that my skin can fully absorb it through the night. Again, I have been using this since September so the serum has lasted some time now. You really only need about 2-3 drops added into your palm with your day or night time moisturizer.
I can’t recommend this product enough! If you try it or are already fan I would love to hear!

I felt like I needed to dedicate a post to all my single gals out here! As we head into a month that is all about celebrating love (plus it’s our wedding anniversary) I thought what more perfect time than now to share a little bit of my rocky road to love, haha! I always rave about how amazing my husband is (because he totally is!) but it was not smooth sailing to get here!
Some of you caught my Instagram story last month where I shared a little about my previous relationship. I received so many messages that people appreciated me sharing that so I wanted to put it here.on my blog. where it’s probably going to stay permanently so that all my single gals can read it, laugh and just relate to it all together after a bad date or break up.
See, before Brandon, I was engaged. It was young love and it all happened so fast that I had no doubt he was the one. We dated for about a year and a half and stayed engaged for another year. I don’t really share this but he’s the reason I moved to Houston. Well fast forward to 2012. He ended up being an alcoholic. There were more instances than I can count where he would just be gone for days at a time. I had no idea where he was, he would just turn off his phone and I would just go into work with my engagement ring on and people would ask me how wedding planning was going and I would be like “oh it’s going great”. NOT.
I vividly remember one of the many times he told me he was going to stay out of the bars. I don’t have a problem with going to a bar you guys but this was an every day routine. He would get off of work at 7am and a bar is where you would find him. Anyway, I remember one time when he told me he was going to stay out of bars that week. I was heading home from work, pumping gas and I see his truck pull into the bar across the street. So naturally, I call him and I’m like “hey I’m heading home, where are you?”. He replied “at the grocery store”. I immediately hung up and I drove right across the street and walked into where he was. Clearly all of the “regulars” knew who I was and my ex must have shared that he wasn’t supposed to be there because everyone just looked at me in complete shock when I walked in. It was like dead silence.
My ex got up, walked out and drove off. He didn’t drive home though. It was about 3 days until I even heard from him again.
For the last 6 months of our relationship we dealt with similar instances off and on. Everything would be going good and then something would happen that triggered an argument and then he would be #gonegirl. Well, I guess in this case, #goneboy.
It took me about 6 months to finally start thinking clearly. Previous to that I think I spent too much time reflecting on when our relationship was actually good and then for a while I started feeling like I couldn’t leave him in this condition. Who would help him break through his addiction if not me?
I will always remember this one morning waking up after about 5 days of not hearing from him and I didn’t have that feeling of “I hope he’s okay” like I had felt every other time. That was a moment of clarity. I hadn’t heard from my fiance for 5 days and I didn’t even care. That was definitely an eye opener telling me “it’s time to go”. It took me several months to get to that point. Up until then I was just making excuses for him and our relationship.
That day I rented a Uhaul, I packed up all of my stuff, moved in with my sweet friends and the rest is history. Well, sort of. He finally called me about a week later to ask where I was. I imagine that was the first time he had come home and saw my things missing. He had a lot of not-so-nice things to say to me at that point for “just up and leaving”. Trust me, I know I am not perfect but I knew that I deserved more.
Thank you, next.
Fast forward to 2013. Brandon and I’s friendship turned into so much more and now here we are, 2019, happily married and with the sweetest son. I’m not sure why we go through certain things in life but I am certain and can share from experience that it makes you appreciate things so much more and makes that happily ever after that much sweeter.
For my single girlfriends who have had your share of bad relationships, that prince charming is coming. That bad experience is a part of your story that you can laugh about later…I promise you’ll laugh later.
Enjoy that time you have as a single gal. Remember your worth. You know what you are capable of giving and you know what you deserve. If that person isn’t giving you exactly that?….thank you, next.
This coat is so incredibly soft and I love the feminine twist on the camo. I am wearing my normal size medium and it fits perfectly. I styled it with heels and denim here but I think it would be so cute with leggings and your favorite sneakers too! Also, you know what is so awesome about the raw hem trend? The fact that you don’t have to pay to get them hemmed. You can simply cut the length of your jeans yourself and voila! perfect fit.
We are currently in some of our coldest days in Houston and if I’m being honest I don’t like it, lol. I mean I like visiting cold places but when we have to run errands in the cold, windy weather? No thank you! I thought we weren’t supposed to have to deal with that in Houston!
Are you guys having a great month so far? I sure hope so! January has been so jam packed for us that I didn’t even realize I was going to be out of town for every weekend in January except for one. The first weekend was spent with some of my favorite mama friends in Charleston, the second was with my dear family celebrating my Mom (I already miss them all so much!) and this weekend I am heading to New Orleans to spend some time with the Texas DSW Style Squad. Eeek, I cannot wait to spend some quality time with them, work a little and celebrate a lot! The DSW opportunity has been one of the highlights of my blogging career and honestly meeting each one of these girls is up there too so I am excited to see everyone!
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and are feeling so inspired to do that thing you always wanted to do. Remember you are only 23 days into the year so if you have already slacked a little on that goal you set out for yourself, it’s okay girl. Give yourself some grace. Today is a new day and we can start strong all over again. The important thing is to not give up.
Would you agree that your coworkers totally make a difference on whether you love coming into work or not? Totally. So why not be that person that makes people want to come to work? The person that brightens up someones day just by them seeing you. Not the debbie downer that they try to avoid in the hallway. Maybe that’s a bit harsh but reality is there is always that one person. Don’t be that one person sister.
Throughout my years in different work environments and in the corporate world I have come to admire some of my colleagues, past and present. These are the people that I love running into during the work day and they just inspire me to always look on the bright side even on the most stressful of days. I’ve learned to take a lesson or two from them in this area and I feel like I have almost mastered the art of being a good coworker. 🙂 Today I am sharing 5 ways you can be a better coworker and in return will most likely create the best work environment for yourself.
Outfit Details: Dress: Forever 21 | Heels: DSW (on repeat) | Handbag: DSW (also the one you see my carrying like everyday)
5 Ways To Be A Better Coworker
Offer A Helping Hand – do you see someone carrying a pile of stuff trying to get the door open? Open the door or offer to carry something for them. Do you notice your colleague looking stressed and overwhelmed? Ask them if there is anything you can do to help. More often than not they will say no but just asking will make them feel so much better.
Be A Calming Influence – back to seeing a colleague stressed, be the calming influence. I know we all get stressed, it’s inevitable in the work place but be the person someone can come to stressed and then leave feeling like “I got this”. How can you do that? Well, first of all you can let them vent a bit and then help them talk through all of the tasks that will help them achieve whatever they are trying to accomplish. It is human nature to get stressed over the bigger picture and deadlines but when we lay out the small tasks and do everything step by step it’s easier to make that end goal realistic. Sometimes people need someone to help them get there. That’s where YOU, A+ in co-working come in! 🙂
Do Not Gossip – not much to explain here. Just don’t partake in office gossip. Assume it’s all #fakenews and don’t get involved.
Learn The Art of Small Talk – Yes, small talk is art and let’s emphasize on the word small. I think it’s important for you to get to know your coworkers because it helps build another level of respect for one another and I personally think it helps you understand better ways to work together, however, do not be the over talker that people regret running into. Again, I know that’s harsh but these stereotypes truly exist. Be intentional with your conversations and sensitive of people’s valuable time. You want someone to want to talk to you and not walk away thinking “that was a waste of 30 minutes”.
Spread The Positive Vibes – this could be as small as making sure to smile and say hello to everyone you encounter that day and as big as bringing in a batch of cookies for everyone on your team or floor “just because”. People’s attitudes and energy are contagious. Make sure yours is worth catching.
Do you practice these 5 tips at the workplace? I’d love to hear what other tips you have on being the best coworker you can be!
I can’t believe it has already been 2 weeks since our girls trip to Charleston. We had such a great time and came back with so many memories! If you are looking for a place to visit with your gal pals I would highly recommend Charleston. Today I am sharing where we stayed, where we ate and what we did! Oh and all of the outfit details, of course!
Shop these looks:
It was my first time in Charleston and I always heard about how charming it was and now I totally get it! It was one of the most charming cities I have ever been to and I would go back in a heartbeat. Also, my middle brother was born there so before I left for the trip my parents were telling me all of the things they remembered from there so as we biked through the town I just imagined them walking through the city with my brothers as kids and that made this trip that much sweeter.
Where We Stayed:
Zero George hooked us up with the private Garden Suite which was just about as charming as the whole city of Charleston. We had our own little house that was complete with a living room and I can’t forget about the complimentary wine, cheese and 24 hour espresso service! I cannot recommend Zero George enough. The staff was so kind and accommodating. The property was as cute as can be and so close to everything that we were able to bike from the hotel to all of the spots we wanted to see. Oh and the pre-dinner cocktails we had at Zero Restaurant + Bar were pretty great too. 🙂
What We Ate:
Aside from eating all the cheese boards and drinking all the coffee from Zero George, we stopped at a few delicious hot spots during our girls weekend in Charleston.
Breakfast at Millers All Day – I had the frittata which was yummy and the restaurant reminded me of a place you would see in Palm Springs. So cute!
Dinner at Husk – I had the NC Chicken dinner which was okay. Honestly, I think this restaurant is a bit overrated as it is always on everyone’s top places to eat in Charleston and apparently it’s super tough to get a reservation there. For that reason, it’s worth saying you’ve been there but if you can’t get a reservation during your visit to Charleston, don’t feel too bad.
Dinner at The Darling Oyster Bar– OMG, I wish I had a picture of the crispy fried chicken that Margret and I shared. It was SO good and one plate is definitely plenty enough for two people! The atmosphere was super cute and the cocktails were legit.
Sweet Treat at Jeni’s – We stopped by during our bike ride back to the hotel to satisfy our sweet tooth cravings. I had the salted caramel ice cream and it was delicious!
What We Did:
I loved that we walked and biked through Charleston all weekend. The only time we took an uber was to dinner each night because it was pretty chilly at night. Zero George provides first come, first serve, complimentary bikes which was another plus from our hotel stay. I would recommend biking or walking through the city because there are so many charming houses each way you look and that is the only way you can take it all in. FYI- you can get fined $500 for biking on the sidewalk. I wish someone would have told us the first day, haha.
King Street – surprisingly we all had intentions of shopping but I think only Jessica bought something. We sure did window shop in Gucci though but we all came out empty handed. King Street has a ton of chain stores as well local boutiques.
Charleston City Market – The city market is a must when visiting Charleston. Such a great place to grab souvenirs as all of the items found at the Historic Charleston City Market are certified authentic Made in Charleston items.
Republic – Our sweet new friend Hillary recommended that we go to Republic for some night life fun. If I’m being totally honest, Rebekah and I were just trying to run into the Southern Charm cast, haha. We actually got there right after dinner which was probably pretty early #momlife but Republic ended up giving us bottle service which started that visit off pretty great and we got to dance the night away.
The Battery – The gorgeous and huge houses along the peninsula are definitely a must see. Apparently these homes were built by some of the wealthiest families in the city and I’m not surprised.
Waterfront Park and Pineapple Fountain- I am so glad Margret brought us by here on our last day. It was just a quick stop on our bike ride back to the hotel but the fountain is always something I see on Southern Charm so that’s pretty important to me, haha! This area has a great view of the harbor and would be such a great spot to let your little one run around if traveling to Charleston with your family.
Rainbow Row- The iconic Charleston site is a series of houses near the water front painted bright pastel colors. Again, another charming stop and must see in the city in my opinion.
If was such a fun weekend with some of my favorite mama’s and I would totally go back to charming Charleston in a heartbeat!
Pin this post if you have a girls trip to Charleston planned for the future!
Hi beauties! Today’s post is for all of my mamas and mamas-to-be out there! With my Mom’s birthday yesterday and the fact that I got to take a trip with some of my favorite mamas this past weekend, it inspired me to share Mom Blogs that I love to read and I think you will love reading too!
5 Mom Blogs That I Love
Scary Mommy – This parenting site is a self-described “vibrant community of millions of parents, brought together by a common theme: Parenting doesn’t have to be perfect.” Expect to find some comedic gems on their site! Although they share a lot of things that will brighten up your day and make you laugh, they also share a lot of great topics like body image, single parenting, special needs and so much more! The confessionals page which you can find here might be one of my most favorite things things life.
Style The Girl – If you all have been following along for some time now you already know that Margret is one of my dearest friends in real life. So even though she might not technically categorize her as a “mom blog” she is a Mom who blogs and has helped me from day one in my journey to becoming a mama! She is one of the most kind humans I have ever met, she has the cutest style which of course translates to mommy and me outfits. She is always out and about doing things around the city with her daughter Sofia and you’ll love her family travels. They travel as a family often which I love so much. One of my most favorite travel posts from her is “Things To Do In Seville Spain with A Toddler” which you can find here. It makes me want to book a European family trip STAT!
Mommy Poppins – Okay, total honesty here. If you are not one that reads blogs often, you may go to the Mommy Poppins blog and feel very overwhelmed BUT I promise you it is a site full of fun activities and knowledge from so many different mama’s! So many times I have googled things to do when we traveled in different cities and this site popped up. Mommy Poppins has different contributors who are mom’s in different regions so they round up fun things to do in so many different cities. I just typed in “Texas” and more than 6 pages popped up! Check them out here.
Lipstick Heels + A Baby – Jess is HILARIOUS! I started following her when she just had her oldest son and now 3 babes later she’s still fabulous! I met her at New York Fashion Week last year and she’s as sweet and pretty in real life. I remember her sharing this meme once that read “I’m just trying to find my soulmate who will pre-game before our kid’s football game with me”. Haha! I was like, “that is my kind of girl!” She shares a lot of really great fashion and beauty too but what I love most about her is that she shares things that make mom life a little easier like food services, haha! Being the perfect Mom doesn’t mean having to have the perfect home cooked meal every single night, you just gotta make sure your family is fed! I first heard of Nuture Life through her when I was meal prepping baby Weaver’s meals one night at midnight and I was like genius! Also, when anyone gets on Instagram Stories all put together with 3 kids like Jess, I will follow all of their tips LOL
Dawn P Darnell – You probably already know Dawn is another dear friend of mine! She is also a #boymom and I feel like we were sisters in another life. I love how candid she is and her laugh is contagious! She shares a lot of boy mom fashion which of course you’ll love if you have a son. In real life she has been such a sweetheart and blessing through our whole adoption process. She has great Mom fashion but isn’t afraid of being sexy either. She was extremely open about her recent breast augmentation which I think is so bold of her! You can read all about that here. Dawn shares everything from fashion, blog tips and fitness. She is currently training for a marathon!
My favorite thing about all of these moms are that they are all so different. Raising their kids in different ways and are all killing it at that #momlife. They are running businesses and while sometimes the instagram feed will show a perfect life, they share so much behind the scenes on their IG stories that remind you that they have have hard days too and are open to share tips on how they survive those days.
I really think you’ll love these bloggers. I’d also love to hear some of your favorite Mom Blogs that I may not have listed! Drop them in the comments below so I can check them out!
Hey babes! Many of you requested to see more casual but still put together looks on my recent poll so that’s exactly what I am sharing today! I grabbed 2 pieces I wear so much from my closet and styled them together!
Outfit Details: Dress: Target (wearing a medium) | Sweater: Adidas (wearing a 6) | Shoes: DSW | Sunglasses: Quay Australia
You all know I love leopard print and this $35.00 Target dress is something you can wear to the office with heels too but today I wanted share how you could totally replicate this look for the weekend! You probably already have similar items in your closet! It doesn’t have to be a leopard print dress it just has to be any shift dress really! Grab an athletic sweatshirt or even a denim jacket to tie around your waist, throw on your favorite sneakers and voila! You’ll never have to substitute comfort for style again!

When I first moved to Texas I remember seeing the longest line wrapped around the James Avery store of customers waiting to get in. A few weeks later (when the line was not there, lol) I decided to go in to take a peek. After talking to a sales associate and seeing the jewelry myself, I realized what the hype was all about.
Outfit Details: Dress: Target | Hat: Target | Booties: DSW (similar here and here) | Ring: James Avery
I actually had no idea that James Avery was a family owned, Texas based company and James Avery himself lived to be 96 years old and just passed in April of this year. In 1954 James Avery started his jewelry business in a two car garage and in 1957 he mailed out his first Christian jewelry catalog. All items handmade. In 2007, he stepped down as CEO and passed the reigns onto his son Chris who is CEO/President today.
I love how James Avery jewelry is designed to reflect the things that are important in life. From wedding bands to first communion crosses and commemorative charms, each piece is created with so much meaning behind them. I immediately fell in love with this Marrakesh ring that was inspired by a royal palace in Spain which happens to be one of the countries Brandon and I love the most! So many memories were made in Spain during the first years of our marriage and I love that this ring reminds me of all of them!
James Avery has such beautiful and unique pieces that make great gifts for anyone in your family. They have a way of making their charm bracelets look chic and timeless and I love that each piece has a story of inspiration behind it which then is passed onto your loved one that has a story of their own. Like my new Marrakesh ring for example. It was inspired by Alcar of Seville, a royal palace in Spain but when I look down at it, it reminds me of Brandon and I’s time in Spain which makes this intricately designed ring such a special gift for me. Also, I just adore the mix metals of the sterling silver and bronze.
Do you have a favorite James Avery piece? I’d love to hear what it is and why it’s special to you! If you are looking for a meaningful gift, you can check out their new arrivals here.
xo, Roselyn
