Surprisingly Houston has already had some really cold days and typically that wouldn’t be my preference but with coats like these you kind of hope for cooler weather! This wool stadium coat is the perfect, vibrant shade of pink and so cozy! I love wearing it on the weekend with jeans and then straight into the work week like I did in the photos above. Elle Woods would be proud. 🙂 Today you can snag it for $120 off!
Okay now…let’s talk about this tartan plaid cape coat that is giving me all the heart eyes. I mean Wonder Woman wears a cape all the time and since I cannot prance around in my one piece swimsuit all winter long this plaid cape is the perfect substitute! 🙂 This cape is $120 during the Talbots Friends and Family event going on now and it’s worth every penny. The quality is so good you guys. It had actually been a while since I last shopped at Talbots and I was so impressed with all of the stylish options! There are great styles for work and the weekend. Seriously, it was hard for me to narrow down what I wanted! I am wearing a size 4 in the pink stadium coat and a small in the cape!
The Talbots Friends & Family Winter 2018 Event allows you to enjoy 40% off of your ENTIRE purchase from December 10th -December 17th. Grab your 40% off discount code here!

Last weekend I shared an impromptu try on session with all the items I bought from Target. Oh you know, the typical went in for a magazine and came out with 6 pieces of clothing story 🙂 Sorry husband!
Even though Target already has great prices I’m excited to be sharing these looks with you again today because you can snag them for an additional 20% off! I’ll post and link all of the items from the try on session below! The sale is only good for today and tomorrow!
Hi beauties! The title of this post may have thrown you off today but I promise this post is so good! If you follow along on my stories, you got a sneak preview last week!
About two years ago Brandon and I were going through all the foster to adopt training classes, crazy busy with work and trying to deal with some other family/personal life situations that a few months in, we realized we needed to get our goals and priorities on the same page. Even as husband and wife, you have to take a moment in your busy lives to reconnect because let’s face it, life will grab a hold of you sometimes and you get so caught up in everyday tasks and trying to be there for everyone that you almost lose sight of things you are not doing.
Baby Weaver: Button Up: Old Navy (I had my friend’s sister put the graphic on the back for me) | Joggers: Old Navy | Shoes: DSW (these exact ones are sold out but linking similar ones here and here)
So I can’t take credit for this brilliant idea. Actually Brandon came up with it all on his own. One evening I came home from work and he was like I need you to fill this out. I was like “uh oh” LOL.
Okay so filling out the rate card is a 3 step process:
There are 13 “categories”: God, Family, Work, Church, Travel, Relaxing, Marriage, Dogs, Community, Health/Workout, Friends, Date/Activities and Kids.
1- On a piece of paper number them in order of how you currently would rate yourself
2- Rate your spouse/significant other on how you currently see them prioritizing these certain categories
3- Rate these 13 categories in how you think they should be prioritized. Let’s take “community” for example. Volunteering was such an important thing to me but when life got busy I quit putting aside time from doing anything for our community. When I rated myself this fell down to the bottom 3 of my rate card however when I rated how I thought it should be it ended you in one of my top categories. I hope that makes sense.
4 Things We Learned From This:
1- Man, when life got busy our priorities were all out of wack!
2- How we viewed ourselves is sometimes different from how our significant other may view us. For example, I thought I was putting so much effort into quality time with my husband but to be totally honest he rated me at 8 out of 13 which meant he felt that I was prioritizing us closer to the bottom of the list. Yikes!!
3- On the surface some of these categories seem like they are one in the same but they actually should be prioritize separately. For example, you may look at this list and think shouldn’t marriage, kids and family all be put into one category? Well, essentially yes, but you still have to make time and put effort into them as there own categories. Making time for your kids is different than quality time with your spouse which is also different than making time for your brothers, sisters, mom, dad, etc. They are all important. How do we prioritize all of them? That brings me to my next learning moment.
4- Once reality hit (LOL) we were able to put a list together of these 13 categories and how we would both prioritize them together as a unit. From here, we were on the exact same page, with the same priorities. Also, after putting that list together we brainstormed on how to actually execute them. Like, we both wanted to be more active and workout even with our busy schedules so we decided that we would both have the same workout schedule. Not that we would work out together but that if one was going to get up early in the morning to work out the other person would too. If one was going to the gym at lunch the next day, the other would plan to as well. It helped hold us accountable even if we weren’t doing it together. Also, we both wanted to do bible study but our schedules would not permit actually attending a bible study group session so we agreed we would do it at home together. Agreeing to make more time for our family meant, we would make a better effort to schedule a dinner or something of that sort with Brandon’s side of the family more often and also agreed that we would go to California more often to see my family. Just little planning things like that help because now we were on the same page and could help keep each others priorities in line now that they are the exact same.
Obviously, you can add in different categories or delete ones that you do not think are important for your own rate card but I went ahead and attached a PDF version in case you wanted to print it out and complete it with your spouse.

What are you all doing for Thanksgiving?! Since this is Brandon’s favorite holiday I basically follow his lead on this one! He loves all the Thanksgiving dishes and he loves to celebrate as early as possible. LOL. We typically host at our house but this year we are going to Brandon’s aunts house. But don’t get it twisted and think I’m off the hook when it comes to cooking! Like I said Brandon LOVES Thanksgiving so I am still cooking a full on Thanksgiving meal for us. Yes, our big family of 3 ha! I am making turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, broccoli & cheese casserole, green bean casserole, etc. You name it, the boy wants it LOL.
I am also taking baby Weaver to run the Houston Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning. It has become a tradition for me to run it every Thanksgiving morning for the past few years and last year I missed it because we just got our sweet boy and I didn’t want to take him out in the cold. The past year I’ve realized no weather is bringing that boy down lol plus it’s supposed to be sunny and 60 tomorrow morning so we will be just fine. I usually run the 10k but since this is my first trot with a stroller we have signed up for the 5k. 🙂
Ahhh, so excited for all the fun tomorrow but should get to cooking now LOL. Wishing you all an amazing Thanksgiving with all of your loved ones!
I AM SO THANKFUL FOR ALL OF YOU!!!

One might see a pair of sparkle boots and say “those are so cute but I don’t know what I would wear them with!” Well, I am here for you girl! 🙂 I instantly fell in love with thesebooties and I can’t stop wearing them so today I am sharing 5 different ways to style this one bootie.
Outfit One: Booties Styled With an Oversized Sweater And Leggings
I wanted to start off with this outfit option because it’s such an easy but extremely cute look. Everyone already has a pair of favorite leggings and oversized sweater in their wardrobe. Take those 2 pieces up a notch with these Cadaoria booties!
Yeah, you could totally wear this cute dress with a simple ankle strap heel but I love how this Cadaoria bootie makes this outfit a show stopping one. I guarantee if you wear this outfit to your next party the boots will be a topic of discussion! P.S. The bow on this dress is removable so you can put it on other pieces in your closet. I think it would be so cute with a plain white button up!
This outfit screams I like comfort, I like Tom Cruise and I also like nice shoes. 🙂 LOL. Seriously though I love how this sparkly boot adds such a girly vibe to this jumpsuit. Totally unexpected but it totally works!
As you can see these booties take any basic look to the next level. Pair them with a chunky sweater and your favorite jeans for an effortless and chic look.
Okay now tell me, which look was your favorite outfit?! If the sparkle trend isn’t your thing, these cute Cadaoria booties come in 3 other colors! I also have the leopard ones and cannot wait to style those too!
Let’s be real, Monday mornings are tough. Actually a lot of mornings are tough 🙂 So today I am sharing the 7 things that help me start my day off on the right foot. Well 8 things if you count coffee 🙂
7 Tips To Start Your Morning Off Right
1 – Give gratitude. Before you jump out of bed take few minutes, a few breaths, to reflect what you are thankful for. I always say 3 things. Sometimes they are the same three: my family, my health, the fact that I woke up to another day and sometimes they are different.
2- Be present. I know this sounds so simple but it’s actually not. You know how many times I have been going through the motions in the morning and caught myself asking my husband to repeat himself because I literally was just thinking about all the things I had to do that day and not listening to the present conversation? Too many to count. I hated that. Most of us are stuck in traffic and/or in the office all day. We should 100% make the effort to be present for the short time in the morning that we have with the people who are most important to us.
3- Take the time to get dressed up. I don’t know about you but putting on a cute outfit and some makeup can really change my mood around.
4- Get up a little earlier. Getting up earlier allows me to do all the things I need to do before my family gets up. This way I am present when Brandon and baby are awake and I’m able to enjoy some time with them in the AM without feeling rushed and stressed.
5- Tune yourself into a good mood. Whether that’s soothing music or complete silence on your drive to work or your first meeting. Pick something that will help clear your head and put you in a good mood. This is different for me everyday. Honestly sometimes I like complete silence, sometimes I listen to bible on CD and if I’m being honest the other day Big Pimpin’ by Jay Z came on and I was like yaaassss it’s gonna be a good day 🙂 so Big Pimpin’ is how I started my morning that day and you know what? It twas a good day 🙂
6- Stay off of social media (and any news media outlet) for at least the first hour. This may be easy for some but really tough for those of us who run a business that social media plays a huge part in. I’ve learned by staying off of social media for at least the first hour allows me to really soak in everything I listed above without any distractions. I am able to be present, get my intentions clear for the day all without having to read about another sad event happening in the world or having fomo for yet another event I had to miss out on because well, #life.
7- Take a moment for personal praise. Look.. before your day gets crazy, take a moment to tell yourself that you are awesome! And be specific! Did you kill it at a meeting the day before? Or maybe the day before wasn’t your best, think about something you accomplished last week and praise yourself for it girl! This boosts our confidence and with attitudes like this you can get anything done! Show yourself some self praise for that extra confidence boost in the morning!
Try these tips and tell me if they helped you. I hope they do! I know things like get more sleep and prepare the night before are some things you can do as well to ensure you start your morning off right however realistically those are 2 things that I do not do well so I just wanted to share the 7 easy tips that worked for me! I hope they work for you too.
Happy Friday beauties! 3 exciting things happening today! 1- It’s Friday 🙂 2- I am teaming up with the Ann Taylor Factory store at Tanger Outlets to bring you some Thanksgiving outfit inspiration and 3- My family and I are taking the over the Like to Know It family account today!
PSA for all my mama and soon to be mama friends. Their family account is so great to follow because it shares so many Mom bloggers who share mom fashion, kids fashion and maternity style! Basically if you are a Mom or soon to be Mom you are going to love this account!
Alright let’s talk Thanksgiving! It is exactly 13 days away and even though I don’t have my menu put together yet I sure do have my Thanksgiving outfit options picked out 🙂 Today I am sharing one dressy look and one more casual look with Ann Taylor Factory.
I wouldn’t typically choose to wear jeans on Thanksgiving because #turkey but these jeans are so comfy and stretchy just like leggings and I love this top because it will hide my food belly in the most fashionable way, haha! And it’s only $19.99! That’s hard to pass up! Also, running the Turkey Trot every year has been a tradition and I’m doing it this year with baby Weaver in tow so there’s a 100% chance that I will be rocking dirty hair so this hat will be the perfect accessory! 🙂
Do you get all dressed up for turkey day festivities or do you opt for something more casual?
Happy Wednesday loves! It’s no secret that I love the matching two piece outfit trend so today I am sharing 5 matching sets that are office appropriate! First up this pretty set for Ann Taylor Factory.
