10 GirlBoss Quotes To Keep You Motivated

Another snow/ice day here in Houston so most of the city is shut down and working from home! I have a baby on my hip, getting stuff done! LOL, I should have made that a quote 🙂

First things first, I feel like I talk about work all the time but the other day I was talking about something on Instagram stories and I had a few people reach out and say they had no idea I worked outside of blogging. Yes, I work full time in Supply Chain Management as a Procurement Manager. My department specifically, manages the promotional products and printed material programs for the company.

Anywho, whether you are a 9-5 gal or an entrepreneur running your own business, or both, I’ve rounded up 10 girlboss quotes that will help keep you motivated.

Wardrobe Basics I Am Loving + How I Plan To Stay On Track With My Fitness Goals

Our sweet baby has definitely been the biggest blessing in our lives but as you know, most of life’s greatest changes will throw off our regular daily routine. I’m sure a lot of you can relate. Not complaining at all but it did take some time to adjust. I keep saying that we are so fortunate that he is on such a good schedule but even with this perfect baby of ours, we still have to prioritize all the things that need to get done when he goes down for a nap or goes to bed. Do I want to do laundry, clean the house, answer emails, get a workout in or just hang with the hubby while we watch shows and eat Taco Bell? Well, the latter was winning for about 3 weeks straight. 🙂

Finally, when even my comfy pajama pants were getting a little tight I quickly realized it was time to get back on my fitness routine!

“We don’t build ourselves up by putting others down”.

This is probably a quote that you have seen or heard a lot but even though I’ve seen and heard it quite a bit, I still see people doing the opposite far too much.

As we are all setting our goals for the new year let’s remember to stay focused on our own strengths and what we bring to the table as oppose to what we see as weaknesses of others. I work in the corporate world and I’ve been in it for many years. I am also now in the enterprenioal world as a blogger.

No matter what stage you are at in your career, to succeed we must work hard, be honest, be humble and most of all be a team player.

Focus on your strengths, not your competitor’s weaknesses

Sell what you have done, not what your competition didn’t do

Talk about what you can do, not what your competitor won’t do

Last year, around this time I was very fortunate to have been promoted to a management position at my company. Last year, around this time I was in my third campaign with my all time favorite retailer, Nordstrom. Naturally, I was ecstatic about both but you know what makes me even more proud about these life changing moments?…The fact that my hard work was paying off and that I didn’t have to bring anyone down to achieve these goals.

I share a lot of my blogger pals on here and my social media. These are the ones that build each other up. I talk about how the blogging community has been amazing because that’s how I choose to keep my community. There is A LOT of competiveness and some gals can be catty but I don’t talk about that because I feel like that’s not the blogging community I choose to be a part of. I am part of the community that is positive, inspirational and laughs about the ridiculousness and moves on.

If you are in an interview or on a conference call trying to land a big campaign, remember this, “referencing someone else’s weaknesses will never make you look better”.

I say all of this because a lot of you gals have been asking for blogging tips and I will be sharing them for the weeks to come but no matter where you are in your blogging career these tips are the most important. Also, I know I have a lot of corporate gal readers who are starting off in your careers. Remember those 3 tips highlighted above. Those along with your hard work and ability to be a team player will get you exactly where you want to be.

Amazon: My Beauty Must Haves

Happy Friday friends!

Who else relies on Amazon Prime for 98% of their purchases like me?! I wanted to share some of the beauty buys that I have purchased multiple times because I love them so much. Also, sharing a few new items that I recently ordered and am loving!

amazon-best-of-beauty-purchases

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides– I’ve purchased the 20oz container in the past but I really like these to-go packets in case I am running out of the house in the morning (like everyday) I can throw it in my coffee when I get to work. I drink a packet everyday (if I don’t forget) in my morning coffee. Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides are sourced from grass-fed, pasture-raised bovine hides to ensure a natural, high quality, and sustainable source of this ancient nutrient. There are so many benefits to adding collagen peptides to your routine; improves hair, skin, nails and joints, ligaments, tendons. The older we get, our bodies produce less collagen and Vital Proteins helps replenish what we have lost.

24K Gold Collagen Eye Patches– Oh you know, just over here trying to stay young lol. But really, I don’t get much sleep (I’ve always been like this) so I feel like I am always fighting those under eye bags! I have been loving these eye patches. I keep them in the fridge until I need them which is like every other day. They reduce wrinkles and puffiness. I’ve also heard so many great reviews on these 24K eye patches but I couldn’t justify purchasing them at the price just yet so I looked to find a similar one and that’s how I came across these! These 24K eye patches worked great so far so I’m going to try the other ones and let you know the comparison.

T3 Micro Whirl Trio Wand– I have been getting a lot of questions about my curls lately. This is what I have been using for the past year. I mostly use the tapered barrel and 1.25 inch straight barrel.

Moroccan Oil Hairspray– My hair dries board straight and will not hold a curl unless I use the right products. This hairspray is my favorite and it holds so good without feeling stiff! Plus it adds a little shine to your finish. I like these travel ones because I can take them wherever I go. You don’t even have to use that much so this size lasts me quite a while.

Tigi Bedhead Manipulator– Speaking of hair, my baby hairs are cray! I literally cannot wear my hair in a pony or bun without using this stuff to make my crazy baby hairs stay down. I’ll have to share a before and after photo with you but if you follow me on snapchat or IG stories where I am chatting first thing in the morning usually my hair is in a bun with my baby hairs making me look like baby Einstein.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye– You guys… this under eye concealer is life changing! The coverage is so good and it brightens your under eye making you look like you got 12 hours of sleep! Seriously so good you guys!

Ice Roller– This ice roller helps tighten skin, reduce puffiness and redness. This is great for using on any day but especially helps if you had a margarita and mexican food the night before, lol. I don’t know about you but I am all kinds of puffy when I eat/drink salt but #cantstopwontstop so this ice roller saves the day.

Timeless Skincare Serum– I talked about this before on my IG stories. I use this everyday under my daily moisturizer. I put it on a clean face and let it fully dry for about a minute before I apply my moisturizer. It evens out skin and smoothens wrinkles from the inside by rebuilding the skin where it is  needed. My daily moisturizer has vitamin c in it but if yours doesn’t I suggest trying this Timeless Skincare serum with vitamin c.

Tony Moly Hyaluronic Masks– I have a few favorite masks depending on what I feel my skin needs that week but I wanted to share this one specifically with you today because for the price point it is SO good. Especially for this time of year where skin seems to be on the drier side, even more than normal. I have very dry skin and this quenches my skin so much! I put it on at night and the next morning my skin has the perfect glow. I have also tried this one and it’s great too. I just saw this vitamin c one so I am totally going to try that one out next! Also, a side note I mask at least twice a week!

So there you have it, some of my favorite beauty products all available through Amazon Prime! Please let me know if you guys have any questions.

Get Ready To Shine With A Sexy + Comfortable Look

I love that the Vanity Fair lingerie’s Flattering Lace Bralette makes it possible to feel beautiful Vanity Fair Lingerie and comfortable at the same time! I love wearing mine with slouchy off the shoulder sweaters like the one below! It’s so comfortable with its adjustable straps and no underwire (ummm no underwire?! YES please!).

vanity-fair-flattering-lace-bralettevanity-fair-bras

The beautiful lace looks perfect peeking out of your cozy sweaters which is my favorite way to wear them! The bra also has a low v front so you could also pair it with a lower cut top and it would be perfect. I have purchased many bralettes in the past which worked for what I needed them for but they didn’t provide shape and comfort like this one. I’m telling you gals, it’s GOOD! And only $32.

This lace bralette comes in 6 different colors and is available in sizes S through 2XL. These beauties can be found at Vanity Fair Lingerie or Kohl’s.

P.S. VanityFairLIngerie.com is currently running a sale with 25% of sitewide!
