3 Baby Shower Decoration Ideas That Mama Will Actually Use
Hi babes! If you know me, you know I love a baby shower! I really love everything about them. I’ve hosted/co-hosted a few in my day with 10 nieces and nephews and so many of my best friends having babies!
Today I wanted to share three of my favorite baby shower decoration ideas. All 3 are affordable but super adorable decoration ideas that mama can get use out of after the party! Even if you aren’t hosting a baby shower these make for great gift ideas as well.
Baby Shower Decorations That Mom Will Actually Use
1. Diaper Cake– I think I owned a diaper cake making business in my last life LOL. Something about making them (& personalized gift baskets) brings me so much joy. Maybe because you can make them extremely unique to the person you are gifting it too and you can have so much fun with it!
I am working on getting a video together for you guys but while recording it I realized 2 things. One- I am horrible at tutorials. Two- I am even worse at editing a video LOL. I am hoping I can upload to Instagram and to the blog this weekend but stay tuned LOL. If all else fails I’ll do a step by step written tutorial for you all.
Shop the items you need to make a diaper cake below:
I grabbed all of the supplies at Walmart’s baby aisle and fabric department. I didn’t see those cute shoes online so I linked a ton of other ones that are just as adorable!
2. Diapers– Mama’s you already know you can never give a mommy to be too many diapers!
Wrapping the boxes of diapers in wrapping paper and putting cute sayings on them is such a cute added touch to the party decor!
You can print out cute sayings and cut/tape them to the boxes like I did or even spell out the baby’s name on the diaper boxes.
Shop the items you need to make the decorative boxes below:
3. Onesie Banner– Such an easy way to decorate for a baby shower and a guarantee that the mommy to be will love the extra onesies once she realizes how much laundry a little human accumulates!

And since August is National Breastfeeding Month and we are talking about great gift ideas to give a new mama I wanted to highlight and link a few items that my mama friends who breast fed all rave about! As you guys can probably assume I did not breastfeed but I do trust the opinions of my girlfriends that recommended the below breastfeeding necessities! I also do want to mention I do appreciate the awareness that Walmart and other companies are creating around this topic. How amazing that their are so many great items, accessories and creams to make breastfeeding just a little easier for you mama’s out there!
Another great gift idea could be a special and personalized gift basket that includes breastfeeding items for the new mommy-to-be!

I really hope this gave you decor or gift inspiration for your next baby shower! I am over the moon that I have quite a few girlfriends expecting this year so I see a few diaper cakes being made in the future! You can grab all of these supplies and more baby shower party decor all at Walmart.
Hello beauties! I am so obsessed with this midi skirt! Well I am just obsessed with midi skirts in general butthis one from our Gibson City Safari collection might be my favorite!
Midi skirts are so versatile and can be styled so many different ways. I used to shy away from midi length anything because of my height but when you find one that fits you just right, you buy it in all colors! I am 5’3″ and half and this midi skirt hits me just right. I am wearing a size small and love the fit on me. If you are in between sizes or want to wear it a little more high waisted I would recommend sizing down.
Today I am sharing a ton of outfits to inspire you to style this midi skirt! I am sharing a bunch from my latest try on session as well as photos of Tara, Jaime, the fit models and Cindy rocking the skirt! I wanted you all to get some style inspiration from not only the way I style my new favorite skirt but how these beautiful, stylish women are styling it as well!

Chic Work Wear Outfit + 3 Office Productivity Tips
Happy Monday! Today I am sharing a super chic work wear suit with a pop of color to bring some excitement to this Monday haha! I am also sharing 3 work productivity tips that are super simple to implement and have helped me get the most out of my work days!
Every time I ask you all what topics you want me to write about on the blog an overwhleming number of you ask for tips how to manage being a mom and working full time. Honestly, most days are so different. I have really great days and I have not so good ones. And if I am being a thousand percent honest, the main reason I am able to manage a full time corporate job all while being a mother and running a blog is because 1) I have an amazing husband who helps in so many ways when I am busy trying to hit deadlines and 2) I don’t sleep much. I legit can feel rested after 3 hours of sleep. 4 is actually a perfect amount for me. I do crash once a month but then I start all over again LOL.
So although I wish I could give you one main secret that would help, I would never tell you to only sleep 3 hours a night LOL. In the next couple of weeks I will share some apps, small shortcuts and daily habits that help me manage my daily tasks. Today I am sharing 3 helpful tips that help me to be more productive in the office.
What?! Yes, you read that right. For years, I had so much pride in the fact that I could multi-task but not until the last year I realized multi-tasking actually made me take a little longer on finishing tasks. Yes, multi-tasking can work on some things like cooking dinner, feeding you toddler all while listening in on a conference but trying to multi-task at the office or while finishing up a project does not allow you to put your full concentration on the main task at hand causing you to either 1) not finish said task with your 100% full effort and/or 2) taking you much longer than it would have if you just were concentrating on one thing.
Don’t me wrong I can respond to emails when I listen in on group conference calls but working on a full analysis while listening in on a conference call won’t work. Not for me at least.
2 – Cut Down On Meetings
Before you schedule a meeting ask yourself if taking 30 minutes out of someone’s day is truly necessary. Also, when you are invited to a meeting I would really consider whether it is truly beneficial to you or your role in a project. Personally, if I am not leading a project firsthand and I have a team member attending the meeting that I can trust, I will just ask my team to give me an update afterwards. Most often than not their 7 minute recap will provide me the same if not more information than sitting in a conference room for an hour waiting for everyone to arrive, catch up and wrap up would.
I think a meeting can totally be necessary if multiple people are responsible for different aspects or a project but sometimes a group email update can be sufficient rather than a repeating meeting. Again, I do think meetings are necessary but not always, so before you block off yours or someone else’s valuable time ask yourself if it could be done over a quick phone call or email.
3 – Minimize Interruptions To The Best Of Your Ability
Yeah yeah, I know, there are always those people who always want to chat but sometimes even those brief interupptions can throw me out of “my zone” and will take me some time to get my train of thought and motivation back to what I was previously working on. One of the nice things about my company/department is that most of us are able to choose one day week to work from home. There are projects that I intentionally leave for those days because I know I can get through them quickly without any interupptions.
However, if you do not have that luxury, I would recommend closing your door if you have an office or even stepping away from your work area if you are working on time sensitive projects. Before I had an office, I would tell my team I was going to work in the conference room to work on a project or if a conference room wasn’t avaialable I would kindly tell my team that I was trying to hit a tight deadline and would appreciate no one talking to me LOL. Just tell them nicely, they totally get it.
Other types of interruptions you can avoid are phone notifications going off. Like text messages, emails, social media notifications, all of the above! I turn them all off and sometimes I will even turn my cell phone completely off yo keep me from turning my phone over to see I have a hundred group text messages LOL. When I have my phone off, it keeps me from getting easily distracted.
I hope my 3 productivity tips help you like they help me! As I mentioned, I will be sharing more work tips in the upcoming weeks!
Hi loves! I just still can’t believe that I have had the opportunity to work with Gibson Look for the THIRD time! Seriously, I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me grow this platform of mine and allow for opportunities like this to happen.
The International Women’s Day collection was the first collection that I had the opportunity to work with them on and it was nothing short of AMAZING! During that launch I was not able to share too much info or sneak peeks but as the time goes on, the Gibson Look team has been so awesome to allow me to share a little more because we have discussed that is what YOU GUYS want! You all like to know more details before the big launch day! Details like: how many styles are there going to be, how many namesake pieces do I have, who are the other bloggers involved?, etc.
So I’m spilling all, okay maybe not all, but MOST 🙂 of the details for you today!
What other influencers are involved?
I feel so very fortunate to have so many amazing women during each of these collabs! Tara and Jaime are seriously so amazing, kind, beautiful and HILARIOUS! I’m not sure I stopped laughing the entire time with those girls. If you don’t follow them already, you are absolutely going to fall in love with them immediately. Tara has the cutest daughter who she does a lot of mommy and me fashion with. You will love watching the stories they share. Jaime, is a mom of 3 boys so really she is already superwoman in my book! She shares a lot of great everyday fashion, with a great mix of both affordable and designer items.
All of our styles are different which I love because you guys will get so much inspiration on how to style this collection in different ways!
How many styles are included in this collection?
There are 10 styles and 27 skus. Meaning the 10 styles come in multiple color ways.
How many namesake pieces do I have?
3! Eeek! So excited. A Top, a skirt and a dress and you are going to need all three!
When can you shop?
Tuesday, August 20th at 7AM EST. It will all go live on Nordstrom and GibsonLook.com.
I promise I will share more sneak peeks with you all as launch day approaches!
We are officially into the 8th month of 2019! Can you believe it? I certainly can’t!
Today I am rounding up my top ten best selling items that you all loved the most last month. Also, I always look at my highest viewed blog posts each week and last month I was surprised to see what made the top of the list so I thought it would be super fun to share those with you too!
Here were the top three of my blog posts last month:
Colorful Graphic Tee | I am wearing a medium and have already styled this tee so many ways! So glad you all are loving it too!
Wide Leg Pant | The perfect work to weekend pant! Love the color too. Wearing a medium.
Pink Blazer | The sizes on this pink one sold out so fast but I am happy to say I found the exact one in a neon berry pink color here!
Amazon Jumpsuit | I have a feeling this is going to continue on the best sellers list for a while! It comes in a ton of colors and it’s so comfortable making it perfect for everyday wear and for traveling. Wearing a medium.
Mama Graphic Tee | So happy you all always love the mama graphic tees! I grabbed this one in pink and yellow. Wearing a size small here.
Roselyn Flutter Sleeve Tee | Yay! This makes me so happy. Wearing a small, comes in 3 colors and I wear mine all the time.
Agolde Parker Denim Shorts | I know these denim shorts are a bit of a splurge but they are so worth it! I would recommend sizing up one size if you haven’t purchased them yet!
Red Romper | Another great Amazon find. Can easily be dressed up and down! Wearing a medium.
Free People Dupe Mini Skirt | Love this Free People dupe. I am wearing a medium here but if in between sizes, size up!
Okay these high waisted culottes come in 2 other colors and I’m going to need those too! The fit is so good and I think they are so flattering. I am wearing a size 4 for reference. My top is another adorable find from Anjouil’s boutique that I shared on my Instagram story try on over the weekend. Don’t forget you can use code ROSELYN15 on your purchases at Anjouil’s for 15% off!
When I was in Utah last week I went to dinner with a sweet blogger friend and we got into the conversation about how it is so hard not to compare yourself to others. Even with personal successes, social media really has a way of putting someone in your face who is “doing so much better than you”. I know it’s tough not getting caught up in the “Keep up with the Jones'” mentality or I guess this day in age “Keeping up with the Kardashian’s. With social media being such an important factor in my job in the blogging world and as it rapidly continues to grow as a marketing strategy for every company I really have to check myself on this topic more often than I can count.
Today I wanted to share 4 reminders I continually have to tell myself and maybe they will be helpful for you too!
4 Reminders To Stop The Internal Comparison Game
Quit Focusing on the Wrong Person
When you compare yourself to others, you are focusing on another person what they have done, what they have achieved, and what they are doing. Remember, you have no control over this other person. All you can control is you. So check yourself (as I say this to myself) and your attitude.
Remember You Do Not Have The Full Picture
When you look at someone else’s success, you only see the result. You may be looking at years of effort, comparing your beginnings to their end. By now we know that social media is the curated highlight reel of other people’s lives. To achieve the success you desire, you need to walk the road to success. It never helps to jump to the end and make comparisons to those who have already arrived.
Life Is Not A Competition
Since life is not a game, we should stop competing. Life is something that happens every day, every second. It is something to be enjoyed. Many individuals who are super successful in one aspect of life may be complete failures in other aspects. We do not know what they had to endure to get there.
If You Have To Compare, Compare Yourself To Yourself
Instead of comparing yourself to other people create the habit of comparing yourself to yourself. Look back on how much you have grown, what you have achieved and what progress you have made towards your goals. Embrace the journey and celebrate your wins. This habit creates gratitude and is a reminder for you to celebrate all of the great things you have accomplished and how far you have come. Your self comparison is the only comparing that should matter. **said to myself in the mirror every week. If you are improving, that is all that matters.
I hope my 4 tips on comparison really brought something to you today. Comparison is something I battle often and I just want you to know that you are not alone. We ALL do it and hopefully these 4 tips will help us do it less!
