Oh Happy Wednesday guys!
As you may have seen on my Instagram, I love the month of October! Not only is it the month of my birthday but it is also Breast Cancer Awareness month.
We really should be aware and give back to organizations as we can all year long, but I truly do appreciate having a month solely dedicated to breast cancer awareness. This one in particular is near and dear to my heart. You see, my sweet, beautiful, amazing mother battled breast cancer. Thank the good Lord that this was a battle that she won. It’s crazy to look back at this time in my family’s life. My Mom was so incredibly strong and so was my Dad.
My brothers and I of course knew she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, we took trips to the hospital and attended appointments with her. There would be weeks where she had to stay overnight. We were all younger at the time, and not for one tiny little second did Mom and Dad make us feel like it was NOT going to be okay. I’m sure as a little girl I may have cried seeing my Mom in the hospital, but today I can’t even remember ever being worried. That’s the kind of strength and courage our parents showed us everyday. Oh my goodness, you better believe I am crying right now LOL. Tears of joy because I can tell this story with a happy ending today and also tears of joy because I am reminded each day of how incredibly blessed that God chose me to be the daughter of my Mom and Dad.
Okay, so I can stop crying I’ll share these throwback family pictures that are too funny not too share! Apparently I was going through a no smiling stage!
Here is a recent picture of my beautiful Mom, breast cancer survivor, strongest woman I know.
That’s sweet Mom and Dad at our wedding
So you can see why this month and BCA foundations are very near and dear to my heart. Today I wanted share some of my favorite brands who are giving back to the cause. All you have to do is shop these cute items and they will donate a portion of the proceeds for you. How easy is that?! So easy right?! So let’s shop!
8. Ann Taylor donating 10% of sales after 5pm every Thursday to Breast Cancer Research Foundation
And stay tuned for a new, much shorter, hair style coming to a blogger near you 🙂 as I will be donating to the Locks of Love again this year.
Thank you all so much for reading. I appreciate you!
