The Style Lynn Life Travels: Belfast, Northern Ireland Itinerary

Happy day after election day friends!

Whether you are celebrating a victory and want to plan a vacation from all the anxiety you have been feeling the past couple of weeks or are wanting to fly across the country and stay forever this Wednesday post is for you 🙂  If you didn’t catch last week’s travel post you can still catch our Ireland Itinerary here.

In other world news, raise your hand if you knew Northern Ireland is part of the UK while Ireland has been a fully independent country since 1922? (insert emoji *not raising her hand here) When Brandon and I were going over our itinerary and he told me we were going to Ireland and then stopping in Northern Ireland I was like “why don’t you just say we are going to Ireland?” After a brief history lesson I know understand why LOL. Also, there is literally a wall, the Peace Wall, that separates the two countries.

Zaful + 5 Trends You Wish Your Parents Would Have Boxed Up For You

Okay, I am so in love with this bell sleeve top. I mean any bell sleeve top these days really but because it’s corduroy it is just so much more fun!

I wore this top for the first time 2 weeks ago and got so many compliments on it and when I came home from work I was in the middle of telling my husband a story and he stops me and asks “did you wear that to work?” I was like “yea, why?” And as he raises his eyebrows he says “I wouldn’t talk to someone at the office if they wore that” OMG, you guys! I can’t make this stuff up! I also didn’t know I was living with the fashion police!! Haha! Oh well, that didn’t stop me from wearing it again yesterday! 🙂

If you love it, wear it guys! 🙂

3 Francesca’s Finds, 6 Chic Looks

Happy Monday friends! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!

Ours was quite busy but definitely so enjoyable! We had a fun potluck at church, I got to spend some time with my sweetest friends that I don’t see often enough and the Mr. and I got a lot accomplished. The daylight savings had me up super early so all is good in the world 🙂

Something else exciting that happened Friday is that I was featured on the Fran Blog. I have teamed up with them to show you some fun ways to style essential items! This collaboration was perfect for our recent travels.

What is your biggest struggle when packing for a long trip? If you are anything like me then you answered that with “trying to pack all of your outfits into a suitcase without going over the 50 pound airline limitation. I thought I was so genius when I learned the “roll up” rule. That’s where you literally take each garment, fold it in half and roll it into a burrito like shape. You can seriously double the amount of clothes in one suitcase. However, doubling the amount of clothes definitely does not help with the luggage weight problem.

With that said, you can imagine my stress levels when trying to outfit plan for an 18 day Europe trip. This trip would take us through Ireland, Scotland, Amsterdam, Belgium, London, Paris and Jersey. That meant not only did I have to get my luggage weight down to the 50 lbs, but I would have to carry it on and off trains, planes and also needed to leave room to buy all of our family souvenirs!

I had to pack smarter and my goal was to pick pieces that I could easily dress up and also style down for days full of walking through different cities!

Gayle Lace Up Sweater (the exact one I am wearing below is sold out, but similar styles are here and here)

This cozy knit was a no brainer. It is perfect for pairing with your favorite distressed jeans and I loved wearing it with a fun skirt and embroidered boots.

Faux Suede Swing Dress

Suede? Swing Dress? Olive hues? SOLD!

This dress can be styled SO many different ways. You can wear it with your favorite booties and floppy hat or pair it with a denim jacket and your white tennies! Both looks would be equally cute! My dressed up look for a day in Northern Ireland was accessorized with over the knee boots. Later I tucked it into my distressed denim for a fun, casual outfit.

Brinley Wrap Front Blouse

I am loving navy these days so this top was a perfect pick! If you haven’t noticed by now, distressed denim is my jam! So I styled a more casual look with black denim below. My dressier look consisted of delicate layered necklaces and an A-line skirt.

The Style Lynn Life Travels: Dublin, Ireland Itinerary

Hi guys!

I’m so excited to be sharing some of our recent travels with you all! Truth is we got back just last week and I’m already asking the hubby “where was that place that we had that thing?” Haha! I have the worse memory! But I went through the pictures and they definitely brought all the memories back and they also made me realize it kind of looked like we were on a beer drinking tour! 🙂 You can’t help but want to drink all the local beers and live like the Irish when in Ireland, right?!

A few months ago I had written a post on the 4 simple rules to wearing mixed prints. If you didn’t catch that post you can read it here.

I especially love this gingham and leopard print combo here because the mixed patterns are very subtle making it appropriate to wear to the office. I actually wore this exact outfit to work last Thursday and got so many compliments!! The best way to ease yourself into the mixed print trend is to add your second print as an accessory like I did with the leopard print heels. You could easily take this office look to date night with faux leather leggings and a red lip. And, can we just take a few seconds to talk about the sleeves on this top?! OMG. Can they just make this in every color and pattern? I’m officially obsessed and it’s under $20!

Style_Lynn Edit: Brands That Give Back-Breast Cancer Awareness

Oh Happy Wednesday guys!

As you may have seen on my Instagram, I love the month of October! Not only is it the month of my birthday but it is also Breast Cancer Awareness month.

We really should be aware and give back to organizations as we can all year long, but I truly do appreciate having a month solely dedicated to breast cancer awareness. This one in particular is near and dear to my heart. You see, my sweet, beautiful, amazing mother battled breast cancer. Thank the good Lord that this was a battle that she won. It’s crazy to look back at this time in my family’s life. My Mom was so incredibly strong and so was my Dad.

My brothers and I of course knew she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, we took trips to the hospital and attended appointments with her. There would be weeks where she had to stay overnight. We were all younger at the time, and not for one tiny little second did Mom and Dad make us feel like it was NOT going to be okay. I’m sure as a little girl I may have cried seeing my Mom in the hospital, but today I can’t even remember ever being worried. That’s the kind of strength and courage our parents showed us everyday. Oh my goodness, you better believe I am crying right now LOL. Tears of joy because I can tell this story with a happy ending today and also tears of joy because I am reminded each day of how incredibly blessed that God chose me to be the daughter of my Mom and Dad.

Okay, so I can stop crying I’ll share these throwback family pictures that are too funny not too share! Apparently I was going through a no smiling stage!

Here is a recent picture of my beautiful Mom, breast cancer survivor, strongest woman I know.
