Blue Lace Romper

If you are looking for a summer date night romper, your search can stop right here with this blue lace number!

Outfit Details: Romper: Tobi | Heels: Sam Edelman Sunglasses: Quay | Straw Crossbdy: Francesca’s | Earrings: From one of my vendors that I used to buy from for my boutique so I can’t link them. Sorry! But linking super cute floral styles from Baublebar here, here and here

To be totally honest with you, the low v neckline had me questioning if I would actually keep the romper but then I realized it had adjustable straps and once I fixed mine to my liking I fell in love with the romper. However, if you have a little more to show off than I do (I’m sure you do because that’s not hard 🙂 ) then I think you are going to love this romper even more for date night and so will your man!

The light blue hue, ruffle and lace details make this romper cute but the neckline in the front and back make it spiiiicccy! Also, side note a backless bra would be needed. My favorites are this one and these.

Do you guys have any date nights planned for this weekend? I think Brandon and I are going to a casual family dinner tonight. He doesn’t it yet but mama is craving Mexican food, haha. Tomorrow baby Weaver and I have a breakfast date with our sweet friend who we haven’t seen in forever then church and then a housewarming party. Sunday is Pentecost so we have a church service and then I have a work event + dinner. So no date night plans per se but definitely a fun filled weekend!

I hope you guys have a great Friday and weekend! xo, Roselyn

Business On Top Party On Bottom: Blazer & Short Set

Happy hump day friends!

Business on top, party on the bottom with this blazer set 🙂 You all know I love a good blazer so pairing it with some shorts for summer is no surprise! I was bummed when this set sold out quickly after I shared it the first time but excited to share it with you today because I found an almost identical stripe blazer and shorts for a even better price!

Outfit Details: Blazer: Asos (sold out so linking an almost identical blazer here) | Shorts: Asos and $19 option here | Cami: Express | Heels: Steve Madden | Purse: Fossil | Sunglasses: Quay | Lipstick:

Don’t tell baby Weaver I went to Kemah Boardwalk without him, lol. I can’t wait to take him back with us this summer. Did know that starting in June Kemah Boardwalk has a “rock the dock” event every Thursday evening and a firework show every Friday? He’s going to looooove that! Actually I hope he loves the fireworks. That is questionable. I was deathly afraid of them when I was little.

Okay, back to this set. So cute right?! Stripes are such a great classic print and both the blazer and the shorts are great on their own. I wore the blazer with a tee and skinny jeans and I’ll probably pair these stripe shorts with a cami and sandals. Such effortlessly cute pieces and you can grab them today for cheaper than I bought them for. YOU are winning! My blazer was $68 and I just found the identical option on sale for $24 here. Both pairs of shorts that I linked above are under $30. I am wearing medium in both the blazer and shorts for reference.

I hope you guys are having an amazing week so far. The days are flying by and I can’t believe summer is basically here. What do you guys have planned for the summer?!

Good morning my lovely friends 🙂

For the past week something has been really heavy on my heart and I was going to post this yesterday because it truly has to deal with this time of year but this year was a little different for me.

Mother’s Day.

Yesterday I was so overwhelmed by the love from my husband, my family, my friends and YOU GUYS for sending me “Happy First Mother’s Day” messages. Seriously, I cannot thank you enough for always being so uplifting and kind to me!! Mother’s Day is always such a special day for us to celebrate our Mom’s and all the mother figures in our lives but this year I felt extremely blessed to be able to be celebrated by my sweet little family.

As I have been anticipating this special Mother’s Day all week I couldn’t help but reflect on what I felt like last year. I want to share this with you because not until I opened up about our story did I find out how many of you guys went through or are going the same thing.

The last two Mother’s Day celebrations were probably the hardest. I felt so guilty for being sad because I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful mother myself and also two amazing sisters to celebrate that day! But the other 364 days of the year I was able to “hold it together” pretty well staying busy in my everyday activities. It seemed as though every around us was getting pregnant. Even friends that didn’t want kids were having kids and 2 friend’s of ours even made their baby announcement on Mother’s Day. Even though I was genuinely happy for them I couldn’t help but feel sad about our situation. I didn’t really talk about it in depth with anyone outside of Brandon because honestly I didn’t want anyone else to “feel bad” for us and I also didn’t want to take any happiness away from anyone else.

2016 was probably the hardest Mother’s Day of them all because we already knew our chances to conceive were going to be tough if at all possible. 2017, last year, was actually a lot better because we had already gone through the adoption process but we hadn’t gotten a call and my hopes of that becoming a reality started to wither away as well.

Fast forward to 2018 you guys. I got to celebrate in my first Mother’s Day. This post is on the more not-so-happy side than most of my blog posts, but what I want you to know is that

GOOD THINGS WILL COME

I feel your pain for you, my friends, who are suffering infertility. I know the sadness of you longing to be a mother because you deserve it more than anything. I know some of you who have lost a child. I know Mother’s Day is a celebratory day for the world but it’s okay for you to be sad because only you know what you are going through.

I want you to know, from someone who has experienced some of that sadness, that you are not alone. It may seem like people are just having children without any of the struggles you are going through but I’m telling you right now that the amount of people that have reached out to me about their infertility struggles is overwhelming. You are not alone.

I was praying on my way to work this morning (that’s when I pray, haha) and I remember that before we got baby Weaver I’d always pray this “God, I pray that Brandon and I are able to conceive a child if that’s what is meant to be, if not please help us be patient and strong through this adoption process”. This morning I caught myself praying that He help me be the best mother for baby Weaver. Within two years I was praying for our sweet baby and it not until this morning I realized my prayers had switched to me praying that I would be the best mother to our son that God has blessed us with.

You won’t ever forget the sadness that you went through waiting for your sweet baby but I promise you you’ll forget how sad you were and how long you waited because when you are finally blessed with that sweet soul, it will be hard to remember anything else. I know that if you are going through the struggle right now that you hear that from people all the time and it gets annoying but again, I was there girl and I promise you Good Things Will Come

We don’t always understand God’s timing but I know it’s always the right time.

Good Things Will Come

6 Things I’ve Learned Since Becoming A Mother

Happy Sunday you guys! Today I get to celebrate my first Mother’s Day as a mother and I couldn’t be more thankful. I’ve learned so much in the past 6 months and I wanted to share some things with you today.

But before I get all teary eyed and sappy I have to share another Brandon Weaver story. I was dying to get this Boy Mom shirt as soon as my girlfriend sent me a screenshot of it. As soon as I got it in I showed the hubby.

Me: How cute is this shirt?!

Brandon: Boy mom? What is that supposed to mean?

Me: That I’m a mom of a boy, duh.

Brandon: Why doesn’t it just say “I have a son”

bwhahahahaha!! I can’t with him you guys!

Okay, okay onto today’s post!

6 Things I’ve Learned Since Becoming A Mother

1. I’ve learned a brand new type of love for my husband. Obviously, I love my husband so much and honestly I adore and admire him like no other it almost seemed impossible to love him even more but then…I got the opportunity to watch him become a father. Whoa. Watching him play with baby Weaver may be my new favorite thing ever.

2. Mom guilt, wife guilt, work guilt is all so real and can’t be avoided. I remember the first day we had to take baby to daycare. I cried the whole way to work because I felt so guilty that I had to leave him with “strangers”. Then I cried the whole way home because I felt like I wasn’t giving my projects at work 100% that day because all I was thinking about was my baby. That same weekend I cried after everyone went to bed because I felt like I wasn’t giving my husband much attention that week. OMG, thinking back on it I’m like what is wrong with me?! LOL but seriously I still get caught up in those moments of guilt. I try to remind myself I am doing the best I can but honestly having mama friends to talk to and who can relate really helps too.

3. Take people’s advice with a grain of salt. People’s intentions are good but everyone and every child is different. The first month I was taking everything I read and everything people told me so literal that I think Brandon was ready to take our son and walk out on me. LOL, totally kidding but one day I would say someone told me that I needed to do xxx and then the very next day I would come home and tell him I read an article and we can’t do xxx anymore. I’m crazy I know. Listen to your pediatrician and then do what works for you and your baby.

4. I can actually get ready under 10 minutes if I really want to! 🙂

5. I never knew fatigue until now. It would be normal for you to receive a text from me at 2:00am and then see me at the gym at 5am full of energy. These days I have found myself taking advantage of sleep! I even indulge in a nap every once in a while and it’s glorious!

6. Having a sense of humor is a saving grace. So our sweet, perfect little guy has started throwing little “fits”. I mean it’s the most fake, dramatic cry I have ever seen in my life. While some parents, might be embarrassed, Brandon and I can’t help but laugh because baby Weaver still looks so dang cute when he makes this face. It happens when you aren’t handing him his snacks fast enough so it usually takes place at a restaurant or if we are out and about. He does this fake cry with his eyes shut tight and his mouth wide open. Like, SO dramatic you guys! I wish I could show you a picture. Sometimes Brandon will imitate him and baby Weaver will start laughing so hard. I’m like “daddy is making fun of you buddy!” lol

Obviously, I’ve learned so much more about being a mom than just these 6 things I shared today. I’ve even learned so much about myself in the past 6 months but honestly today I’m just so overwhelmed with emotion about the fact I even have been blessed with the opportunity to be a mother. When Brandon and I got married, not once did it cross my mind that it would be a challenge to start a family. We even waited to “start trying” because we wanted to enjoy being a married couple for a while. Then we found out it was going to be difficult for us to conceive, we prayed and prayed and prayed for our sweet family then God brought us the most perfect baby boy that we could have ever asked for. Honestly, not to be dramatic but if I was guaranteed more exactly like him, I’d take at least 4 more 🙂 I’m so thankful to be celebrating my first mother’s day as a mommy (eekkk!!).

Happy Mother’s day to all you mama’s out there. I have so much love and respect for each and every one of you. Thank you for always letting me share life with you.

My Top 5 Favorite Skincare Masks

best-skincare-masks

Tony Moly Intensive Hydrating Mask – You can guarantee that I have this mask in my suitcase when I travel. I always feel so dehydrated after a flight and this mask brings my skin life again! I also really like it after being in the sun for long periods of time. I typically wear this hyaluronic acid mask before bed for about 20-30 minutes. When I remove the mask I rub the excess moisture from the mask onto my hands and elbows. Ulta is currently having a BOGO sale so you can buy one for $4 and get a second one for $2. I’ll definitely be stocking up!

Patchology Illuminate Mask – Calling all my mama friends! When you have gotten basically no sleep and you need to look like you got all the sleep, this 5 minute mask is for you. It contains vitamin C, licorice and grapefruit seed extracts to even skin tone and show off a healthy glow! I like to use this in the morning before my makeup routine and then voila! It looks like this mama got 8 hours of sleep! Also, Ulta has this exclusive at home pampering kit. I have tried all of the products in the kit and love them.

Mary Kay Charcoal Mask– I am in love with this deep cleansing mask! “The mask is formulated with activated charcoal, an ingredient so powerful, it can bind up to double its weight in pore-clogging impurities.” Confession: sometimes I fall asleep with my makeup on (eewww, I know!) but when I do I always use this as soon as I wake up in the morning.  This deep cleansing charcoal mask works by withdrawing dirt and debris from deep within pores.

Aloe Vera Hand Mask – I am so sad that this hand mask is currently sold out online but if you suffer from dry skin like I do, then run don’t walk to your nearest Sephora store! Last year I shared a funny post about my search for the perfect hand cream. You can read that here. My skin is so crazy dry that I have to ensure that I moisturize consistently during the day. This mask helps so much! Now that I use the L’Occitane hand cream I only use this hand mask about once a month and now it’s a debate on who has softer hands, me or baby Weaver 🙂 The aloe vera hand mask is great for intense moisturizing but Sephora has other hand masks as well.

Pure Clay Mask – This mask is great for unclogging and tightening pores. The red algae extract helps refine pores. This clay mask works amazing at exfoliating the dry dead skin. My face feels so fresh, clean, and rejuvenated after just one use. I use this at least once a week. Put it on for about 10-15 minutes and wash off with a warm towel. Also, I love that you can just grab this on your grocery store trip.

I like trying new masks all the time but for the past year these have been my ride or die’s and I consistently keep going back to these!

Let me know which ones are your favorite! I love trying new ones.

Little Black Scalloped Dress

Happy Tuesday!

My Monday blog post is a little late as you can see 🙂 but we were spending our last day in Vegas yesterday and I did not open my computer one time this weekend and it was quite glorious! I got to see the majority of my family at my cousin’s wedding and per usual cried on the plane ride back, lol.

I am so close to my family and even though we text, call, email, basically like everyday, it’s still super hard getting on a plane back to Houston. Now that we have baby Weaver, I just want us to spend even more time with them. Thankfully, Brandon totally gets it and we talked about me flying home to California more often this year.

Anywho, today I am sharing this little black dress from Tobi and I think it is such a pretty option for a wedding guest outfit.

Top Ten Best Sellers For April

We are already in the 5th month of 2018 ladies. Hooowww?!

I was actually so surprised that I only saw a handful of “It’s gonna be May” Justin Timberlake meme’s on my feed this past week. Last year it was out of control. Not sure if everyone just got the point or maybe I just unfriended those people. Haha, totally kidding! 🙂

Today I am sharing the best sellers for the blog for the month of April!

Loft Sirena Ruffle Dress | The perfect work dress because it’s full coverage, the perfect length but still trendy! I love it and actually wore it to a girlfriend’s birthday brunch.

Shein Open Cardigan | A closet essential. I have it in both gray and pink. I’m wearing a size medium.

sugarfix-by-baublebar

Polka Dot Top | This top has sold out and restocked a few times. If you don’t have it yet, be sure to snag it now! I have worn this top so many times to the office and it’s great for the weekend too! Styled for the office and the weekend here.

free-people-shorts

Loft Marisa Pants| These made the top seller list again because they are that good ladies! I got a size 4 petite and they fit perfect. Styled for work and the weekend here.

casual-and-chic-weekend-outfits

Airplane Book Ends | I love when baby Weaver’s stuff makes the top selling list! These book ends are so stinkin’ cute!

Gianni Bini Top and Bottom | I love this suit so much! To be honest I was so self conscious packing swimsuits for Florida. I have not been able to get to the gym as much as I’ve wanted to and I haven’t felt so great about that. Anyway, this swimsuit was really so flattering and I am so glad I brought it!

dillards-two-piece-swimsuit

Libby Edelman Ruffle Top | A little cute and a little sexy. I styled it two ways here.

outfits-adidas-superstars

Sugarfix Beaded Necklace | Remember that necklace that used to have 3 strands before baby Weaver got to it? 🙂 Cute both ways, lol.

casual-mom-outfits

Swiss Dot Embroidered Dress | I wore this dress to my gal pal’s baby shower and it’s adorable. I’m actually selling mine LOL. If you know me, you know I do closet clean outs regularly. I have posted some stuff on my Instagram highlights under closet sale if you are interested.

feminine-dresses-under-100

The Perfect Cami | I wear these all the time because they are a great closet staple. I wear them alone tucked into my jeans and I also wear them layered under my blazers for work.

Let me know if you guys have any questions about these products or any others! I appreciate you!

3 Things That I Do That Annoy My Husband + 10 Floral Maxi’s Under $60

Happy Friday!

To provide you with some Friday laughs I am rounding up 3 things that I do that annoys Brandon so much.

P.S. This floral maxi dress that I wore for our family photos is sold out but I found 10 super cute floral maxi’s under $60 for you!

Family Photos_Print-41

3 Things That I Do That Annoy My Husband

  • Doing everything at the last minute. Brandon is a PLANNER. Like borderline crazy, lol. If I need to do something by a certain date and I know it’s only going to take me like 20 minutes, I’ll do it the day before. In Brandon’s eyes, if I know I have to do it in 3 months and I have 20 minutes to do it then why not just get in done. Let’s be honest, I ain’t doing anything 3 months in advance. 🙂
  • The fact that I drink all of the pickle juice from the jar. I love pickle juice more than I love pickles. I have tried to buy just pickle juice but those drinks just don’t taste the same. He gets super annoyed that when he goes to put pickles on his sandwich the pickles are on the dry side lol.
  • He hates when I ask multiple questions in the same breathe. For example:

me: did you take out the trash? do you need me to take out the trash?

him: yes

me: which one?

him: if you would give me time to answer either of your questions you’d know

🙂

I am so guilty of this. I catch myself doing it all the time now and just laugh.

We are opposite in so many ways but that’s what makes us work! One more funny story before I share these 10 AH-mazing floral maxi’s under $60. I told him I was writing this blog post called “3 Things I Do That Annoy My Husband”. I said it’s titled that because I could only think of 3 things. Girl, he laughed so hard I thought he was going to fall out of his chair 🙂 LOL

Blog/Work Tips

5 Most Frequently Asked Questions About Blogging

most-frequently-asked-questions-about-blogginghow-to-start-a-bloghow-to-make-money-bloggingmonetize-your-bloghow-to-style-a-graphic-teelouise-and-eleanor-handbags

Outfit Details: Tee: Target | Midi Skirt: Universal Thread | Clutch: Louise and Eleanor | Sunnies: Nordstrom | Heels: DSW

  1. What motivated me to start the blog? – I have always loved fashion. It all started with my Mom dressing me in the cutest clothes when I was little plus my Mom was always dressed to the nine’s! Naturally, I went to college and studied Fashion Merchandising. Against, my Mom’s will of course. I’m Filipino so of course she wanted me to be a nurse 🙂 I worked in retail all throughout college and as soon as I graduated in 2005 I landed my first buying job. It was literally the job of my dreams straight out of college and I learned so much. Also, side note, Teddi Mellencamp (for all my RHOBH fans) was a coworker at the time, haha. Anywho, that was the stepping stone of my buying career and I continued to grow professionally in that field for a little over 8 years. When I decided to make the transition from the corporate retail world into Supply Chain Management, it was a much needed change but I sure did miss talking fashion trends everyday. Long story short (per usual) that’s why I started my blog. It was my creative outlet to still talk fashion and all the things that I love outside of my current profession.
  2. Where did the blog name come from? – LOL, I just thought it was so clever when I came up with the Instagram handle style_lynn. It has part of my name in it and represents the word “stylin'”. I chose to name the blog The Style Lynn Life because I knew that along with style I would be talking so much about life experiences so it just seemed fitting.
  3. If you had to give someone starting in the blogging world one piece of advice, what would it be? Ahhh, it’s so hard to pick just one piece of advice because I have learned so much along the way! But my advice to someone who is on the fence about starting their blog I say, “Do it!” I think the only regret I have about blogging is that I didn’t start my blog in 2010 when I originally wanted to. I always talk to my best friend Rachel about this because she remembers me telling her that I wanted to start one when I first moved to Texas but I hesitated because, well, I don’t remember exactly why but I’m sure I was full of excuses. I can’t imagine where it would have been if I would have just DID IT! Everything happens for a reason so I am just greatful for where I am now but I’m telling you, if you are thinking about starting one, do it girl! Don’t come up with a million and one excuses. There is so much to learn along the way. Also, another great tip is to remember to start your blog because you are passionate about whatever you are sharing. I have a lot of people who reach out to me saying that they want to make money by starting a blog and honestly that’s not really how it works. You have to build an audience and connect with them. You have to build relationships with companies so that they want to work with you. You don’t just start a .com and the money starts rolling in.

That brings me to my next question and probably the most frequently asked.

4. How do you make money blogging?- There are many different ways that you can make money blogging. I am extremely fortunate that I have been able to monetize my blog and social media platforms through wonderful brand partnerships, affiliate marketing and LikeToKnow.it. Brand partnerships are started from either myself reaching out to company directly and pitching my idea, a brand reaching directly out to me with an idea or a PR company reaching out to me with an opportunity. When I first established my blog in what I thought was a “good place” to start reaching out to companies, I would send out like a 100 emails every week. No joke. Thankfully, I have built some great relationships and word of mouth is so strong you guys, I am grateful to work with more and more PR firms these days. Affiliate marketing and LiketoKnow.it is commission based. 99% of the time I link something on my blog or through my social media accounts and you purchase the product through my links, I get small credit/commission for it. So clearly, it’s so appreciated when you use my links. Whether it’s my link or another blogger’s link you follow, if you really like following them, a great way to show your support for their hard work is to shop their links. I promise we love you guys so much for it! With that being said, I link all of my outfits on my blog posts and any “social media” only posts are linked under my shop tab. If you want to shop all of your favorite bloggers looks in once place you can sign up for an account (super easy) on LiketoKnow.it and search style_lynn and all of your other blogger friends!

5. What camera do you use and how do you edit your photos? – I have a Canon D3300 and I use Lightroom and Snapseed. I wish I was better at photography and editing but I’m really not. I have been shooting with Yash from Banavenue Photography for some time now and he is so amazing. He edits all of the photos we take together but if I shoot looks on my own aka husband or friend shooting me I’ll edit in Lightroom or Snapseed.

I hope this post was helpful but let me know if you guys have any other questions regarding this topic! As always, thank you so much for reading and allowing me to talk to you about all the things, brands and places that I love!
