Polka Dot Work Wear Outfit

It’s been too long since I’ve shared an office outfit but it sounds like many of you are slowly making it back into the office so I’m adding them back into the content calendar!

I actually really do miss dressing up for the office! I still get fully ready most days even if I am working from home because it makes me feel more productive but maybe I need to add slacks back into the rotation!

This polka dot top is from Shein and it sold out so quickly! I will link the black version here and also below I will include some other cute polka dot blouses Shein has that are all office appropriate! My black ankle pants are from Express. Linking this years version here.

I’m not sure if you have shopped Shein lately but they have totally stepped up their game! I have shopped them on and off for years but noticed that in the past few they have really taken people’s feedback to heart. I used to size up at least 2 sizes in their clothes but their sizing was off but everything I ordered in the past 2 months has been more in line. I ordered a large in a ton of stuff and had to exchange them for mediums (my normal size). Speaking of exchanges, years ago they wouldn’t do returns, just store credit. Now they do returns and my last order got to me in 4 days ya’ll!

Shein is great for shopping trends and now kids clothes since they grow out of them so fast! I bought the kids a ton of stuff for our trip last week and the quality of the kids stuff was great! Just wanted to give ya’ll a heads up in case you’ve had a bad experience with them in the past. Worth another shot! All of the shackets I shared in this blog post are from there too!

7 Year Wedding Anniversary Copper Gift Ideas

“We made it!” – Brandon this morning LOL. Today we are celebrating our 7 year wedding anniversary so I wanted to share some fun copper gift ideas including what I got him!

We always do a trip for our anniversary so we don’t really buy each other gifts but me being me always wants to do something even if it is small so I started following the traditional anniversary gift calendar and year 7 is copper!

copper anniversary gift ideas
  1. Collar Stays – A perfect and inexpensive gift for your man. Especially if he wears dress shirts frequently. These are the exact ones I bought Brandon 🙂
  2. Copper French Press – A great gift for the coffee lover in your life! AKA, me babe 🙂
  3. Copper Sound Wave – I thought this was such a cool idea for home decor. You can turn a voice or a song into this cool looking sound wave. There are also a ton of different background options as well.
  4. Cheese Board Set – A sweet gift option for someone who loves to entertain. I have this board but unfortunately mine didn’t come with the knives set.
  5. Copper Mugs– These are the copper mugs Brandon tried to surprise me with but I accidentally opened the package when it came in LOL. I also saw these wine glasses.
  6. Copper Constellation Picture – I always wanted to order a custom sky art picture! You can pick the night sky from whatever special date you choose. First date, wedding day, first day you met, etc.
  7. Copper Utensils– These are so chic!
  8. Cuff Links– Cuff links are always a great idea for your man if he wears suit jackets often. I bought these 2014 penny ones for Brandon but I really like these personalized ones too.
  9. Cooking Utensils – Great for any cook but if they don’t cook, these are still really pretty LOL. I may just order them for myself!
  10. Copper Frame – I thought this frame was so cute! If it went with our decor I would have totally ordered one of these.
  11. Money Clip – Love this personalized one!
  12. Copper Cookware– For the cook in your life!
  13. Catch All Bowl- Anyone could use something like this. I also found this one that is a little more masculine.
  14. Keychain– Such an expensive but thoughtful idea
  15. Wine Rack– Bonus points if you fill the rack with wine too! 🙂
  16. Beverage Tub– There are so many different ones you can get. I also love this personalized one from Etsy.

Sister’s Sweet & Simple Boho Room

I was scrolling Pinterest one night and as soon as I saw rainbow wallpaper I knew that’s what I wanted to put in sister’s room. I love how sweet and subtle the shade of pink is but the assortment of rainbows keeps it super fun for a toddler!

So going off of the rainbow accent wall, I wanted to keep it pretty simple but boho themed. I love that both her and Landon’s room are very themed but still really simple and easy to keep organized. The playroom is where the disaster or a mess can happen LOL but I want them to feel calmness in their rooms.

I’m so happy you guys helped me decide on doing a bigger gold mirror! I originally bought the 20″ but it was too small for above her dresser so I ended up purchasing the 30″. I felt like it still looked a bit plain on its own so I added the dream catchers and pretty artwork. The dresser is from Delta Children and I also put a ton of these organizers inside to help keep everything organized.

Sister was playing peek a boo with her book which actually made for the perfect picture to share! This is her little reading space. She LOVES books! Her and Landon take turns sitting on this chair and pretend they are the teacher reading to the class AKA me and Daddy, haha.

These boho style baskets are usually overflowing with stuffed animals but somehow most of them made it to Mom and Dad’s room yesterday! I purchased the cactus artwork from At Home for my old office and wasn’t going to use them anymore so I am happy they worked in her room!

The round wicker wall decor is from Amazon but it looks like it’s sold out right now so I will link some options below that would work too!

boho toddler room

I am in love with this wallpaper from Wall Blush. They have some other rainbow options as well but this one I really loved! They were also super helpful and responsive with questions I had. Helped me figure out how much wallpaper I needed.

This cute house bed was literally the first thing I bought for her room LOL. I love it and so does she. Also, big brother swings from it sometimes (don’t try this at home folks!) so I think he loves it too 🙂 Hers is toddler size but it comes in twin bed size as well. Mattress is from Delta Children.

Sister’s pretend dress up station. Usually filled with princess dresses and shoes. I love that this one has a place to hang jewelry and a mirror on one end.

By the look of sister’s cute little jump, I think she loves her room too! Oh and I bought this pretty little basket to hold her most worn bows so I can easily grab them. I think it would also look great on an entry way table for a “catch all” space.

Let me know if you have any questions about any of the items here!

Favorite Photos From Our Wedding

I seriously cannot believe Brandon and I are celebrating our 7 year wedding anniversary this month! I honestly thought it was 6 and he had to correct me, haha!

In honor of our anniversary month I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from our wedding. I had such a hard time narrowing them down! Of course there were a ton of sweet photos I wanted to share but today I am sharing many that more so make me laugh! I’ll tell you why below!

parents of the bride photo

I love LOVE this photo of my parents so much! This is right after our church ceremony ended and the family and bridal party were walking out of the church. Look at the pure happiness on their face OMG. My heart could burst!

So this photo was snapped in that same moment but what makes me LOL about this photo is my Mom stopping the party to say hello to her friend like the diva she is haha!

Not only is this a shot of our first kiss as husband and wife but it’s my sisters smile in the back for me! Gosh I love her!

This photo makes me literally laugh out loud! So long story short, we had a full Catholic ceremony. I grew up Catholic but Brandon did not so even though we had a full dress rehearsal the night before I love the look on his face here. He’s like “what is happppeeeenning?” LOL

Also, before anyone asks yes he took all of the required classes to get married in the Catholic church.

Love this visual capture of our mom’s lighting the candles to unify our families.

This is the “coin” part of the ceremony. In old traditions it resembles the meaning of the groom’s promise to provide for the family. But when he handed me the money I whispered “gotcha” and he was trying not to LOL in church, haha!

I can’t believe I don’t have this one printed out! It’s just a sweet reminder to put God first and our marriage will always be strong.

Of course I love this photo because it’s me and my Daddy but it makes me smile because the photographer told everyone not to take any photos with their phones and well…you can see my aunties do what they want!

I am so happy we got this capture outside of the church! A photo I will cherish forever!

Okay, I feel like I have a story for every photo LOL but really, a photo is so much more than what meets the eye and people can interpret it differently. This was a shot from our “first look” photoshoot but what makes me smile here is it’s like Brandon is agreeing to marry me and all of my sisters/friends that come with me 🙂 and that’s what make me smile so big!

My beautiful friends and sisters from all walks of life! Also my niece made that amazing sign but the priest wouldn’t let us use it in the church so I am glad we got pictures of it here!

groomsmen photoshoot

My brothers, my nephews, and all of Brandon’s best friends. There was no lack of love at our wedding that is for sure.

My beautiful mama performing Pandanggo sa Ilaw, a popular Filipino folk dance. Ya’ll it’s hard! She taught me it when I was younger and I had to tape the lit candle to my head lol. She’s just a natural pro. This dance is said to depict the courtship of a young man to a maiden that captured his interest. I am so happy we had her perform at the wedding.

tinikling folk dance

Another popular Filipino folk dance is tinikling and it’s done with 2 bamboo sticks. Some of our close family friends performed the dance at our wedding and then called Brandon out to try! And when they asked for more volunteers of course my older brother came out and was showing everyone his skills! We grew up doing this one too! I’m pretty sure we always had tinikling sticks in our garage, haha!

Of course Brandon and his brothers dance battle made the top fav photos! Although it wasn’t a coordinated performance it was sure entertaining!! Love them!

This photo makes me smile and laugh every time! Here’s my Mom saying her speech and my Dad helping her hold her THREE pages of notes. It was a sweet, funny and so my Mom! I kid you not at one point in her speech she said “It’s my night!” No, not mine like Roselyn’s. Mine like Mila’s. LOL

My brother Manny breakdancing! When the lights went off, everyone was ready to dance! I’m not sure when the last time it was that he had done a windmill before our wedding night but the DJ got him out there LOL

Then he got our friend Anthony started! Ant is someone we consider like a brother too! But the other thing that makes me laugh is that my bestie Rach in the back is like “raise the roof! yup that’s my friend!” even though she just met him that night LOL

Okay, last one. I figured I’d throw a sweet photo of us in here too! This one was from our “first look”. I am really glad we did that! We had to be ready earlier but it took the pressure off of having to make everyone wait too long between the ceremony and reception.

I hope some of these photos made you laugh today! I’m so grateful for these wonderful memories and of course for a wonderful husband!

3 Game DAy Appetizer Ideas

Cindy and I shared 3 delicious appetizer ideas on IG stories Sunday. Not only were they surprisingly delish but they were extremely easy to make and also inexpensive. Many of the ingredients you may already have in your house.

I did a swipe up to the exact recipes but many of you were saying the link wasn’t working for you so I am going to put all the details here as well as some alterations we made!

easy game day appetizers

If you make any of these yummy apps for game day I’d love to hear!

buffalo cauliflower wings

Buffalo Cauliflower Wings

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup Buffalo Sauce (we used Frank’s!)

How To Make The Wings:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line baking sheet with parchment paper or these silicone lining sheets. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the spices, salt, and the flour. Add the buttermilk and stir until combined. The mixture will be pretty thick!
  3. Add the cauliflower florets to the batter, coating each piece evenly in the buttermilk mixture. Place the coated cauliflower onto baking pan, leaving room between each piece. Do not overcrowd them.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes and then flip the cauliflower over so both sides get an even bake. Bake for another 20 minutes on the other side!
  5. While the cauliflower bakes, make the buffalo sauce. Combine the buffalo sauce with the melted butter and whisk to combine.
  6. When the cauliflower is done, add the florets into the bowl the hot sauce mixture is in and toss to ensure the cauliflower florets are evenly seasoned.

***If you want them a little more hard and with a crunchy finish, I highly suggest broiling them for 2-3 minutes at the very end (after the florets are tossed in the sauce). ENJOY!

healthy caramel date dip

Healthy Caramel Date Dip

Ingredients:

  • 15 dates
  • 6 tablespoons almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make The Caramel Date Dip:

Mix all ingredients together in a blender until a smooth consistency. THAT’S IT! Only one step! That’s my kind of recipe LOL.

Just a friendly reminder that it will be a smooth consistency but not as smooth as caramel. I just wanted to point that out because I kept thinking ours wasn’t right. I also want to note that I LOVED this date dip with strawberries but not my fav with red apples. I personally think it goes better with a sweeter fruit! Let me know what you think!

cheesy brussels sprout dip

Cheesy Brussels Sprout Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound brussels sprouts, trimmed and quartered
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, unpeeled
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme, chopped
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup grates parmesan

How To Make This Delicious Cheesy Brussels Sprout Dip

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Toss the brussels sprouts in the olive oil, salt and pepper, spread them out in a single layer on a baking sheet along with the cloves of garlic. Roast in oven until golden brown, about 20-30 minutes. Flip halfway through. **Do not overcrowd the baking sheet when roasting the brussels sprouts or they will steam rather than roast.
  3. When brussels sprouts are down roasting, take them out of the oven and squeeze the roasted garlic from the skins. Mix everything (the rest of the ingredients from above and the roasted brussels) and place in a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees in oven until lightly golden brown on top and bubbling on the sides, about 15-20 minutes.

Optional: cut up pieces of turkey bacon and toss on top before you bake for the last 15-20 minutes.

Overall, I was so surprised about how easy all of these game day recipes were to make! We spent about $50 when we were picking up the ingredients for these recipes but it could definitely be less if you have a lot of the spices in your pantry already. Which I did not LOL.

Let me know if you make any of them!

Camila’s Breakfast At Tiffany’s Themed Tea Party

I’ve been trying to be better about printing out pictures and photo albums and as I was going through all of our pictures from December I realized I never shared the details about sisters birthday celebration!

**updated with no emojis covering her sweet face!

tiffanys theme birthday

We were so happy to be able to have sister home just in time for Thanksgiving and for her 2nd birthday! We had planned to just do a little dinner with Brandon’s family since we were flying out to California the day after her birthday but I I also wanted to make it really special since it was our first birthday with her!

So thankful for Slumber Tents for the cutest set up! They have a ton of different themes and can set up for slumber parties, big and small. We had them set up two tents for sister and Landon. They also provided the mini table for our tea party. I was messaging back and forth with them and I mentioned I was doing a Tiffany’s theme and they were so sweet to get the added touches last minute to make it really special. The sequins pillows and pearls really did the trick! You can check out their Instagram here.

Toddler Towns set up the soft play area in our (empty) dining room and both of the kids went crazy over it! They also have a ton of different colors and set up options as well. Be sure to check them out on Instagram.

I love this last picture because sister is sitting pretty smiling like a princess and Landon is doing a high jump into the ball pit LOL. If this photo doesn’t describe their personalities I don’t know what will!

Sisters celebration ended up being just us 4 but it was perfect. A mini tea party with macaroons and donuts. Then the kids played all day with Toddler Towns set up. We ended the night eating popcorn and watching movies in the living as the kids enjoyed their tent set up.

I can’t wait to share these pictures without sisters face covered because she is smiling so big in all of them! If you are in the Houston area and are looking to make your little ones celebration extra special I highly recommend Slumber Tents and Toddler Towns!

4 Shackets Under $40

I can’t decide if I think the word “shacket” is the silliest word ever or genius. 🙂 Either way I do love wearing them! Since a shacket is halfway between a shirt and a jacket, it can be worn all year long and styled so many different ways!

A Shacket Styled With Combat Boots: Cool Girl Vibes

I am loving the pearl buttons on this one and it’s giving me all the Chanel vibes! I am wearing a small. It’s pretty oversized so if between sizes, size down.

Dress Up A Shacket With Under The Knee Boots

This green shacket is tweed so I love how it looks dressed up with over the knee boots. This one runs a little big so if in between sizes size down.

I hope today’s post was helpful in styling your shackets!

Ya’lls Favorite Amazon Purchases From 2020

Reading through your favorite purchases from Amazon was way more fun than just me listing my favs! There were so many good ones but I narrowed it down to the top 30! These were ones that were sent in multiple times from a lot of you!

best amazon purchases

Favorite Amazon Purchases From 2020

  1. Desktop Vacuum – This is actually genius and funny LOL. I’m always getting crumbs on my desk when I am snacking and working!
  2. Tinkle Razor – Yep, I can agree this one is a must for all the ladies! If you have never used one, I wrote a blog post about them here.
  3. No Show Socks – I feel like I have tried so many no show socks and none of them stay up! I agree with you guys when you said these are the best no show socks ever!
  4. Milk Frother – Apparently I am the only one in the world that doesn’t own a milk frother? LOL
  5. Essence Mascara – Okay I don’t wear mascara really because I have lash extensions but holy moly the amount of you who raved about this product!!
  6. Silicone Loofah – I have talked about this product many times before. Loofahs harbor so much bacteria. Silicone is super easy to clean when it gets dirty and limits bacteria.
  7. JS Joy Initial Necklace – For $11 I am gonna have to buy one for myself too!
  8. Silicone Baking Mat– This was probably one of my fav purchases too! Easy to clean and less foil being used!
  9. Drill Brush Attachments for Cleaning – OMG! I totally forgot I own this and also trying to remember where I placed it during the move? LOL. Anyway, I was influenced to buy this after I had paint splattered all over my old office tile floor. Instead of it taking me forever to clean up the dried paint I purchased this, attached to Brandon’s drill and easily scrubbed the paint right off with just water! Use for cleaning grout, bathrooms, all the things! It actually works so well and I can’t believe I forgot I had one, haha!
  10. Quilted Comforter Duvet Insert – When we were searching for a new comforter, this was the one that was most recommended. Not surprised it made ya’lls list for top favorite Amazon purchases for 2020!
  11. Blue Light Blocking Glasses – A must have if you are in front of a computer or even on your phone a lot!
  12. Kid’s Echo Dot – We love our echo dot in the kitchen and had no idea they had this cute kid’s one! Definitely buying one for sis and Landon stat!
  13. Scalp Brush – Ummm, you already know I go many days without washing my hair but it sounds like I can go even longer with this scalp brush ya’ll love! It’s also supposed to help promote hair growth.
  14. Pet Grooming Glove– Also need this! Cali and Tex shed quite a bit and I am sure they would prefer this glove that just feels like we are petting them versus the shedding brush we currently use.
  15. Broom and Mop Rack – We actually have this exact one! I can’t take credit for the find though. Brandon purchased it to keep the mops and brooms organized and off of the floor. I’ll have to tell him you love it too!
  16. Acupuncture Mat– Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait just a minute! I am intrigued and am buying it lol. I’ll keep you posted on my thoughts!
  17. Charcoal Peel Off Mask – Probably the #1 beauty item recommended from you. I have never tried this brand so I’ll be adding to cart as well.
  18. Glycolic Face Wash – This face wash I can personally and highly recommend as well!
  19. Silicone Makeup Brush Cleaning Mat – I own this and it works just as good as the other name brand, more expensive cleaning mats!
  20. Kitchen IQ Knife Sharpener – OMG, I actually need one of these!
  21. Fabric Defuzzer – Can be used on clothes & couches!
  22. Satin Pillow Cases – There are so many options on Amazon but this set of 2 satin pillow cases have over 80K 5 star reviews. If you have been wanting to purchase the Silk pillow cases but haven’t yet because the price tag. These are worth a try.
  23. Foot File – Add to my list of the most random but amazing things I have ever purchased from Amazon. I originally bought it for Brandon but used it once and I was HOOKED!
  24. Portable Steamer – From your messages sounds like I need one of these in my life!
  25. Eufy Robo Vac– I feel like everyone needs a robovac! This specific one was the most recommended by ya’ll!
  26. Santal Oil– The luxurious scent that took Instagram by storm! 🙂 It is my fav oil to diffuse and I think I have repurchased already 4 times now.
  27. Electric Candle Lighter – So apparently this is a rechargeable lighter? The more I read the more I thought “this is genius!”.
  28. Makeup Eraser – Game changer! I have some from Ulta but a lot of you recommended this Amazon one! It makes removing makeup so much easier and less messy.
  29. Skin Oil– I can attest to this amazing product! I can’t believe how quickly it changed the appearance of my skin! Def grab a bottle if you have never tried it! Hundreds of ya’ll already have said you love it!
  30. Facial Steamer– Since so many people couldn’t get to a spa most of last year (or at all!) a lot of us purchased this! This is the exact one I have.

Thank you for helping me compile this list! So many things I don’t have yet but will be purchasing to try myself! Anything on the list you don’t own yet but want now? I’d love to hear!

I think it’s been over a year since I purchased anything from Shein. An ad came across my Facebook the other day so I went to the site and saw so many cute items. I thought I’d give it another shot! I’ve gotten a ton of cute things from Shein in the past but I have received a few miss’s too! I’ll share all of the the things I recently purchased from there. I am trying to film a haul for ya’ll sometime this week! I have some good finds and a few things that just didn’t work. I’ll be sharing all of them!

This belted blazer was one of my favorite things from my order. The only thing I didn’t like was that the belt is super cheap so I just swapped it out for something I already had. Also, I ordered it in a large so that I could also wear it as a dress. Just keep that in mind if you are wanting to wear it that way too!

Oh and lastly it took about 5 days to arrive! I know that is always a popular question when ordering from anywhere right now!

Which outfit is your fav?!

15 Things To Do In January

Since many of us have organizing and redecorating at the top of mind this month so I thought it would be fun to share a list of some projects I want to do in the house. I am hoping we can all check some of this stuff off together! I also threw in some fun stuff onto the to list because we need to make sure we are making time for fun too, right?! 🙂

15 Things To Check Off Of Your To Do List In January

  1. Write Out Your 2021 Goals – See Monday’s blog post about how I brain dump all of my goals for the year!
  2. Send Coffee To A Friend – Randomly send an e-gift card to a friend (or friends!) to a local coffee shop or Starbucks.
  3. Clean/Organize Pantry – This is a good time to go through expiration dates as well! I linked some of my favorite kitchen organization items here.
  4. Donate Clothes/Toys To A Local Shelter or if you know of a family in need, donate directly to them- This is the time to go through your closet and donate things that you haven’t worn in a long time and also anything that doesn’t fit your kids anymore. They grow so fast!
  5. Take The Kid’s Somewhere New – To make up for all of their toys you donated 🙂
  6. Finish The Playroom – I have been needing to finish our playroom for the longest time! Since I already went through and donated things we had duplicates of and things what we don’t use anymore, this is the perfect time to finish up the space. If you don’t have a playroom on your list of things to do, you can fill in the blank here! Maybe it’s a guest bedroom or bathroom?
  7. Clean/Organize Linen Closet – Our linen closet has become a “catch all” space. There are board games, towels, blankets, who knows what else! It’s a small closet that I have just been avoiding. Definitely need to spend an afternoon organizing it. I hope you’ll join me!
  8. Send A “No Reason Gift” to Someone- Brighten up someone’s day by sending them a small gift. Maybe a coffee mug that reminded you of them or even flowers.
  9. Go Through Your Underwear and Sock Drawers – Okay, I know this sounds so random but I know I am not the only one that reaches for the same bras and undies while the others never make it into rotation. Like why even have those?! Free up space in your drawers sister! I know I need to!
  10. Unsubscribe to Unwanted Email Subscriptions – Raise your hand if you have signed up for an email subscription for a discount. GUILTY! I need to put aside time to unsubscribe to those things filling my inbox!
  11. Make Your Own Pizza Night – Have a fun night in with the family making your own pizza’s! I’m excited to see what sister decides to put on hers LOL! Also, I have never made my own dough soooooo, we’ll see how that goes 🙂
  12. Cancel Unwanted Monthly Subscriptions – I am embarrassed to say that I cancelled some app subscriptions the other day and it was totaling like $45 a month. $45 a month for apps I wasn’t even using!! You probably already know this but if you are an Iphone user all you have to do is go into settings -> click your name -> subscriptions. You can review and cancel as needed. So simple! My next step is to look at my automatic bank payments and see if there is anything else I need to cancel. I canceled a tanning resort subscription last month that I had been paying for for over a year. Ummmm when is the last time I had stepped into a tanning booth?! So much money I could have had in my bank account!
  13. Decorate The Fire Mantel – So many of ya’ll are wanting to spruce up your living room decor for Spring so I thought this would be fun one to do together! I’ve been waiting for my furniture to arrive so I literally haven’t even decorated my fire mantel space. I am excited for this one!
  14. Decorate Sister’s Room – Eek! Her dresser came in so I need to get the rest of her room together! Again, if you aren’t planning to redecorate your child’s room, insert another room or space here.
  15. Have An At Home Spa Day – After all that hard work, relax and get you in a spa day girl! If you feel safe going to spa, do that! But if not, so many great products to do it at home too!

If you want to join me in crossing some of these things off of our list this January, just screenshot the image. I can’t wait to see who is in!
