Happy Wednesday!
I am so excited that I am finally picking back up on this travel series! I only took a one month break LOL. Okay, so I know in my last travel post here I said Scotland came in close second to Paris, but….going through these photos made me remember how much I loved Brussels! It was such a BEAUTIFUL place! It was almost like being in mini Paris except it was half the walking.
How We Got There:
From Scotland, we flew to London for a quick one day trip. We actually just stopped there because it was a Holy Day for us and that was the closest church we could get to. As soon as we landed in London, we checked into our hotel, had a late dinner and literally went to bed. The next morning (so early) we headed to Tonbridge for church. That didn’t give us much time in London this trip but we have been to London before so I promise to put together a London itinerary soon!
Anywho, so we flew from Scotland to London and then took a train to Brussels. Are you still with me? LOL
Where We Stayed:
Hotel Agora. This place was very reasonably priced and so chic. It was decorated with aquariums, greenery and it was eco-friendly everything. Not to mention there was a waffle place next door, a chocolate house on the corner and the café across the street claiming to have the best frites (french fries) in town. Literally could smell the deliciousness as soon as you opened the hotel door. Oh and it is only like 1 minute walking distance from the Grand Place, Antique Square, museums and the Central Station. But more importantly you are surrounded by yummy restaurants. 🙂
Where To Eat:
If you read our Dublin post here I talked about how I felt like we were on a beer drinking tour. Well, we officially crossed over into the eating tour part of our trip 🙂 Sooo….would you judge me if I told you that we had Belgium waffles for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Well, we did. But I only had ice cream on mine for lunch and dinner so that makes it a little better right? When in Belgium 🙂 Anyway, we highly recommend Aux Gaufres de Bruxelles.
Oh and another non waffle place worth mentioning is La Chaloupe d’or. It is located in the Grand Place. Sitting in the middle of all that architecture on a beautiful day is breathtaking and the fried goat cheese life changing. The picture below is where we sat and enjoyed lunch outside with Matt Damon.
Just kidding. That’s not really Matt Damon. 🙂 But did I get you?! LOL
Coffee & Sweet Tooth Fix:
Aux Gaufres de Bruxelles for Belgian waffles all day long! Plus they have yummy coffee.
Pierre Marcolini. Champagne truffles? Yes please.
Where We Shopped:
Believe it or not we only shopped in one store here and it was for souvenirs, but where I totally wish I could have gone is the vintage market that they have on Sundays. If you are there on a Sunday you must go!!
Ahhhh, all the good feels recapping and reminiscing about this trip with you! Are you guys headed there any time soon?! If so, here’s a list of must do things while in the beautiful city of Brussels!

The buildings look absolutely incredible, and the food looks almost too good to eat!
