It’s Not About The Brand, It’s About Style

“Fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it.”

This is one of my all time favorite fashion quotes because I couldn’t agree with it more! Fashion is what we see on the runway, in magazines and on the hanger. But style. Style is EVERYTHING. It’s how you make a piece YOURS!

Sweater (similar here, here, here and here!) | Denim | Heels (on sale for $26!) | Handbag | Watch

The amazing news is that I found this super cute and cozy sweater at Walmart for under $15!! The bad news is, I can’t find it online so that is why I linked similar styles above but you should definitely check out your local store!! The Walmart site is not the most user friendly site in the world. Also bad news, I obviously can’t be trusted anywhere. 🙂

I walked into the local Walmart a few weeks ago for gift bags and walked out with 5 sweaters and earrings. For real guys. They were so darn cute and I just could not pass up that price!

Naturally, I styled them with my favorite distressed jeans and my newest Trendlee bag. If you didn’t read my last post about Trendlee, you can read it here. I mean, how gorgeous is this Louis Vuitton bag?! And it can be yours for a fraction of the original retail price.

You may be thinking to yourself, Walmart sweater and with a Louis bag? Yes girl. That’s where my blog post title and favorite fashion quote come into play. It’s not about what brand you are wearing, it’s about how it makes you feel when you wear it. I love to splurge on certain items. Especially bags, sunglasses and sometimes shoes, but when it comes to basic tops, sweaters and such I go the more affordable route because really I don’t know how long I am going to love those things. Now a Louis Vuitton? I can guarantee a life of eternal love there. 🙂 So the splurge is total worth it.

Do you guys feel the same? What are items you save on and where do you justify the splurge?

I would love to hear!

xo, Roselyn

  1. I love it. Especially on items where you know it’s probably not going to be in style for long, but you want to rock it anyways while you can!

My splurge items are shoes & purses! And I’m currently searching for the perfect pair of splurge-worthy jeans. If it will last me a couple years, then it’s splurge worthy.

  2. This color looks great on you and I can’t believe you were able to find such a pretty sweater at such an amazing price! Kudos to you for being able to mix high and low effortlessly.

  3. I cannot believe this sweater is from Walmart! It looks awesome on you! You’re right, it is about the style and not the brand. I am a new blogger and get a little intimidated that I don’t have the most expensive items like you see on some successful bloggers. Great post!

We all love luxurious things, but hey if I gotta choose between dinner for the month or a new bag…this girls gotta eat! LOL! That’s why I love promoting brands and sites like Trendlee. Designer items at a discount for us fashionistas! Thanks so much for reading girl! xo!

  4. haha I love this Walmart sweater with a Louis bag, that is SO my thing, I literally invest in shoes and bags, the rest is forever or whatever I find that is super cute. The only big investment is jeans, I just have four really gorgeous pairs of rag and bones that I wear and wear and wear! Otherwise its all fun!
