10 Amazon Kitchen Items I Have Been Loving

Cutting Board – This exact board can be purchased by itself or in a set of 3. I just got the solo large one. I have only used bamboo ones before this and I must admit, I am happy I made the switch! These are extremely durable, have a grip on both ends so no slipping around when cutting your food, are dishwasher safe, BPA free and won’t crack or splinter like bamboo ones might.
Bread Box – A cute way to decorate your counter space while still serving a purpose! Will link some other cute options below too because Amazon had a ton!
Clear Glass Coffee Mugs – Let’s be honest, as soon as I saw Kourtney K using clear mugs I had to have them LOL. Not sure how much she spent on hers but this set of 4 is under $25!
Dry Food Containers– These airtight food containers come in a set of 4 and are perfect for storing so many different foods. They also come with blank labels and a chalk marker.
Silicone Baking Mats– Less foil usage? Yes please! These silicone mats are the best replacement for foil when baking and super easy to clean up!
Cookie Jars – 3 quart, airtight cookie jar. These jars really keep cookies fresh and are great for pantry organization.
White Knives Set – I originally purchased my Cuisinart White Knife Set from a different retailer but now they are backordered for 4 weeks from that exact site but I saw that Amazon currently has this exact set available on Prime. This is a great knife set and also looks great sitting on the counter. Set Includes: 8″ Chef Knife, 8″ Slicing Knife, 7″ Santoku Knife, 5.5″ Utility Knife, 3.5″ Paring Knife, 2.75″ Bird’s Beak Paring Knife, 4.5″ Steak Knives (6), 8″ Sharpening Steel, All-Purpose Household Shears, Wooden Block.
Tiered Spice Rack – We use one for our spices and the other for canned goods! I love that they have a grip so you don’t have to worry about your cans falling off easily when your toddler is rummaging through the pantry LOL
Glass Meal Prep Containers with Lids – A set of 10 for under $30! They come in different colors but of course I had to get the pink! I love that they are oven safe so you can cook in them and then put the lid on them and throw them directly into the fridge if you have leftovers! They are also freezer safe so you can even meal prep and freeze your casseroles!
Labels – You can also grab these in black lettering and different fonts. I’ll link other options below as well! There are also really cute labels that come with a chalk marker so you can write on them yourself! I don’t have the best handwriting so I like these labels the best 🙂

3 Ways To Incorporate Apple Cider Vinegar Into Your Beauty and Health Routine

Apple Cider Vinegar has various healthful properties including antimicrobial and antioxidant effects. Over the past few years I have read so much about the health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar AKA ACV that I must admit I quickly hopped on the train. Now I drink it, I wash my hair with it and I even bathe in it. Yes, I am for real 🙂

Today I am diving into how I incorporate Apple Cider Vinegar into my health and beauty routine and why.

Benefits of Using Apple Cider Vinegar In Your Bath

I have shared my battle with eczema before but it’s something I have had for as long as I can remember. Thankfully as I get older I have learned how to make the flare ups less frequent. Foods definitely play a big part in my flare ups and if I’m being honest sometimes your girl indulges even if I know there will be consequences LOL that’s where my ACV baths come in.

Using topical Apple Cider Vinegar helps re-balance the natural pH level of the skin and improves the protective skin barrier. Since ACV is antibacterial and anti-fungal it seriously helps my eczema and dry skin so much.

How To Use In Your Bath: Just toss 1 cup of ACV into your hot bath and make sure you soak for at least 20 minutes.

I always use Apple Cider Vinegar in Landon’s Detox Baths. You can read more about that here.

Benefits Of Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar

When I found out ACV can help in aiding weight loss, reducing cholesterol and lowering blood sugar levels, I was all for trying it!

How Much To Drink: I am not a doctor but I have read to take one tablespoon to 1 “shot” every day. I, personally, take one shot a day.

ACV aids in weight loss by reducing cravings and studies show it has helped lower blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity, lower cholesterol, and so much more. My parents actually put their shot of ACV in fresh grapefruit juice everyday so if the thought of drinking straight Apple Cider Vinegar does not appeal to you, try diluting it with water or throwing it in some yummy grapefruit juice.

Benefits Of Washing Your Hair With Apple Cider Vinegar

I shared this on my Instagram stories a few months ago and ya’ll went wild LOL! Yes, I wash my hair with ACV every once in a while. I used to do it every week but now I probably do it once a month.

I started using it because my scalp was super dry. Like I mentioned before ACV helps with my eczema flare ups so I figured it would help on my dry scalp. Once I tried it I realized how much it actually made my hair feel softer AND helped get rid of my product build up. Ya’ll know I love my dry shampoo and prefer not washing my hair often LOL but on top of that add in hairspray and already dry skin, my scalp loves what ACV does for it.

How I Use ACV In My Hair: I just take 1/4 cup of ACV (remember I have a lot of hair LOL so use accordingly) into the shower with me. Step one: rinse hair with shampoo of choice. Step two: pour ACV directly onto my scalp and then evenly distribute through my hair. Let sit for at least 2 minutes. Step three: condition as usual.

Benefits I have seen: Helps with product build up, helps with dry scalp. makes my hair feel softer and look shinier.

Coordinating Mama and Mini Outfit From Walmart + Teacher Survival Kit

Landon may be going to school everyday but you better believe I am still coordinating with him for morning drop off ? A few weeks ago I shared some cute outfits I picked up for him at Walmart and when I was in store a few days ago to grab items for his Teacher’s gift basket I couldn’t help to grab a few things for myself too!

I think Landon has these jeans in 3 colors now. I love them because they are really soft for denim. You know these little’s are always jumping around so I like to make sure his clothes are breathable and soft.

One of my really good girlfriend’s who is a teacher told me that one of the best gifts she’s ever gotten from a student was a “Teacher Survival Kit” so of course it made me want to put one together for Landon’s teacher. AM And PM Skincare Routine

Everyone’s skin type is different. Honestly, even my own skin type varies from day to day LOL. Also, the older I get the more I I care about my skincare routine. I have tried a ton of different products and although I do like to change it up frequently I do have some of my favorite products that are always a part of the routine so I’m going to share those today.

This post isn’t about telling you to buy all of the products I use. I am just sharing what works for me but this post is to help guide you in making sure that you are using the products you do have correctly! Just making sure you are getting your money’s worth girl!

Morning Skincare routine

Cleanser: I really love Cetaphil and Aveeno. I will link everything below that I really like. I have tried pricier ones that work really great as well but if I am going to splurge on skincare. I would rather it be on serums or moisturizer.

Toner: I always go back and forth between the Tula and Thayers Witch Hazel. If you choose to try the Tula you can use my code ROSELYN15 for 15% off.

Antioxidant Serum: Antioxidant Serums are super important because they protect your skin from things like UV rays, blue light and pollution! All of these damage your skin cells causing inflammation and deplete collagen levels. There are so many good ones out there but below I will link my favorites, Whatever you choose, just make sure you are incorporating this into your skincare routine!

Eye Cream: Just a little dab goes a long way! Love this Murad one, this RoC one and this Origins one

Moisturizer: I go back and forth between all of these below but I have used the Murad one for years!

Sunscreen: Even though the Murad Vitmain C moisturizer has SPF, I will still put a sunscreen product on.

Night Time Skincare Routine

Cleanser: I always double cleanse at night. I do not use makeup wipes. I will use the same 2 cleansers from my AM routine but every other night I will use this exfoliating cleaner.

Toner: Again, I go back and forth between the Tula and Thayer’s Witch Hazel.

Serums/Treatments: This is the step in your night time routine where you are treating your specific skin type. Maybe this is where you are putting on your acne treatment, retinol, glycolic acid, etc. This is the fun part 🙂 Although I do like to switch up my serums and treatments, this is usually what I will do: Monday, Wednesday & Friday I put on retinol. Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays I put on glycolic acid. Sundays it’s usually differents sheet masks I am trying out! Linking my favorite spot treatment, serums and retinol and glycolic products below.

Eye Cream: Same products from my daytime routine.

Moisturizing Night Cream: Linking some of my favorites for all price points.

Neck Cream: Since the skin on our neck is thinner it’s more prone to show signs of aging quicker. Whether you choose to use some of your existing product on your neck or a separate moisturizer like I do, just make sure you are showing your neck some love!

Facial Oil: Some people apply facial oil both morning and night but I only put it on in the evening. Facial oils can help with adding moisture back into dull and dry skin. It also helps with wrinkle prevention and adds extra nourishment. Basically it’s an added bonus to your skincare routine that can help with hydration and give you that healthy glow. And if you are thinking, OMG this is already like $100 in a skincare routine, have no fear I have found 2 AH-MAZING facial oils that will be a gift to your skin and they are both under $15!

I swap between these two every other night.

Lip Treatment: Yes, this Laneige Sleep Mask is pretty good but you don’t need to spend $22 on a lip treatment. Just make sure you are putting something on your lips before you go to bed. Chapstick is perfect too! If I am not using the Laneige Sleep Mask I use Aquaphor. But not the Aquaphor lip treament. For some reason, that doesn’t well for me. I just get the smallest tube of the healing ointment and use it as chapstick at night. Works like a charm for my dry lips!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020

Nsale is going to look a little different this year but no doubt there are some great items included and after days or browsing each page of the Nordstrom Sale preview I am rounding up some of my favorites in today’s post! A lot of my favorite items are going to be on sale for under $50 so I predict they will sell through pretty quickly.

The Lowdown On The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:

The special thing about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is that these are brand new products that we get to snag for a discounted price. Usually retailers have a sale cadence and won’t put anything on sale until after a certain amount of weeks the products have been on the floor. The NSale holds this new, Fall inventory for the Anniversary sale so that we get to purchase brand new products from our favorites brands for a lower price. After the Anniversary Sale ends, August 30th, all items will go back to full price.

Other Important Dates:

The amazing thing about the sale is that you get to grab brand new products at a discounted price but depending on your Nordstrom cardholder status is when you get to shop.See important dates above. I have always had a Nordstrom card but in the past you would be able to show your Nordstrom card and then pay with another card if you wanted to, supposedly they aren’t allowing that this year FYI.

Another thing they did different this year, which I think was an amazing idea, is letting everyone get a preview of items starting on July 24th. This way you really could take a browse at your currently wardrobe and strategically shop the Nsale and not just purchase things because it’s on sale. So I highly suggest, if you do want to shop the sale, scan through your current wardrobe a make a list of things you need, New coat, new black, booties, basic tops, work pant?, etc.

Honestly, this year feels different for so many reasons. At first, I didn’t know if I even felt like covering the sale for a few reasons but after spending days browsing all the categories I did get really excited again. Job status changed for many people this year so pushing a sale didn’t seem like a priority for me but after some of you reached out asking for my picks that really pushed me to stop being a Debbie downer about it LOL.

Back To School Fashion With Walmart

It’s crazy to think that back to school is going to look different for each family this year! I have mama friends who are home schooling, friends who are sending their kids to school and family members that want to do in school learning but they can’t because their district has mandated 100% remote learning.

We are doing a bit of a hybrid situation. We have been doing some major research for schools in our new area of town and are really excited about the school that we choose! I know that Landon is going to thrive in this new environment! Especially if I let him wear a Spiderman outfit everyday ?

Back to school shopping for clothes, supplies and shoes is always such an exciting time so I think letting kids pick out stuff for the upcoming school year will get them super pumped and bring some sort of normalcy.

We recently did a major back to school haul at Walmart. I went in for a few things but with most things under $5, this mama couldn’t help but stock up!

We grabbed these polos in about everything color! They are wrinkle and fade resistant and under $5! Also, these jeans fit Landon so good so I grabbed a couple pairs. It looks like you can only grab the black in store but you can purchase the olive and rust color online.

Landon of course picked out 3 Spiderman tees and the light up shoes!

I also picked up a ton of supplies: paper, scissors, pencils, markers, etc. They also had a ton of really cute classroom décor so whether you are a mama turned homeschool teacher or a teacher looking for classroom supplies, I would highly recommend checking out Walmart’s back to school section! Our chalk banner was only $3! Unfortunately, I cannot find the exact crayon chalk banner online but I would try your local Walmart. I will link similar options below!
