With so many delicious restaurants in Napa Valley, narrowing down all the places you want to eat in a 48 hour period is a very hard thing to accomplish. So what does a girl do? Scour instagram for the best food and cocktail photos located in Napa Valley of course! ๐ That’s how I came across Ca’Momi. I was drooling over the pizza and cocktail photos, but I had no idea it was going to be even better in real life!
If you are looking for authentic Italian cuisine while in Napa I highly recommend this place! Not only is the food delicious but the service was excellent and well…wine. ๐
Okay, so before we get to the food and wine portion of this post let’s talk the restaurant itself and the service.
I loved the way the restaurant was decorated. A very hip, industrial vibe with exposed pipes, wooden tables and brick details on the walls.
The friendly Ca’Momi staff sat us at our table (20 minutes early!) and presented us with our own personalized tasting menu. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Also, a special shout out to our server, JC. He was probably the best and most informative waiter I’ve ever had. I think our whole party would agree.
Okay, now onto the good stuff, food and wine!
As I mentioned above, they put together a personalized tasting menu. Each course paired with the perfect wine.
1st course
burrata & vendure | organic wood-oven roasted vegetables
carne salada | pinot grigio cured beef with arugula and parmesan (YUM!)
This course was paired with sparkling wine which was Brandon’s favorite wine of the night!
2nd course
montanara pizza | lightly fried, wood oven finished pizza topped with basil and smoked mozzarella cheese
They recommended that we try the pizza with their very own Olio Piccante which is California-grown & pressed organic olive oil infused with their own blend of organic chilies. I am so glad we took their recommendation because that olive oil was freaking AH-mazing! I think I’m going to have to go back to Napa just for their pizza and olive oil! For.real.the best pizza we’ve ever had. Right Rach?! Also, Brandon said it was better than the pizza he had in Italy and I’m pretty sure Justin said he was going to order the olive oil to be delivered to his house!
You too can purchase the Olio Piccante here and I suggest you do!
The pizza was paired with their ca’momi rossi di ca’momi red blend.
3rd course
rigatoni con coda alla vaccinara | rigatoni with braised oxtail, pine nuts, raisins and parmesan
This course was paired with Ca’Momi merlot. My favorite wine of the night ๐
4th course
stinco di agnello al vino rosso | braised lamb shank with roasted celery root puree
frisรจe & endive | organic pears, roasted walnuts gorgonzola and apple-cider vinaigrette over salad
asparagus salad | poached asparagus with farm organic boiled egg topped with lemon & egg vinaigrette
The course was paired with Rachel’s fave wine of the night, pinot noir.
5th course– dessert ๐
millefoglie alla fragile | flaky puff pastry layers with vanilla bean cream and organic strawberries
cannoli | sheep’s milk ricotta with chocolate chips, sicilian orange blossom water and candied orange zest
Apparently I did not take any good pictures of the dessert before it was devoured so I’ll spare you my sad picture of a plate with just a fork and crumbs LOL but you can check out their dessert options here.
Some other great things to mention about Ca’Momi is that they take pride in sourcing organic foods and going local with most of their dairy, meats and veggies. And because they purchase most of their ingredients this way, some of their menu items change with the seasons. How neat is that?! Utilizing local foods and flavors to guide their seasons menu and enhance their authentic Italian recipes! Read more about Ca’Momi here.
The entire time we were there, the tables and bar area were packed with people so that told me it was definitely a local favorite.
Also, they have a live band every Friday and Saturday night. I’m so bummed that we weren’t able to stay to enjoy that! But with the delicious food and yummy wine that is just another reason to go back!
Do you have travel plans to Napa coming up? If so, add Ca’Momi to your list!
