Workout with TKO

Happy Friday beauties! I am so happy to be sharing my first of many fitness posts with you all! For those of who know me personally or have started to follow me on Snapchat (roselyn_m) you know that fitness is a huge part of my life! You may also know that I have a love for great food and a major sweet tooth, but that is called balance 🙂

I love the feeling I have after a really intense workout and being fit and healthy makes me feel good about so many other things.

I was gifted these TKO Resistance Bands and they could not have come at a better time. I am currently in New Orleans  for work and just because I am out of town doesn’t mean my daily workouts stop. Also, I don’t know why I look so angry in some of these pics! I guess that’s what I look like when I’m working out!! LOL.

Wishing you a blessed weekend!! Thank you so much for reading!

Spring Pantones with Nordstrom

Today I am sharing another one of my favorite spring trends (and colors) with you!

Rose Quartz and Serenity  are probably colors you have heard a lot lately. That’s because they are Pantone’s Spring 2016 Colors of the Year. Up until now, Pantone would always announce its color of the year and lo and behold this year we were lucky enough to get two! First time ever guys! That has to mean 2016 is going to be an amazing year right?! Right!! 🙂

pantone-spring-2016

So what do you do when you are in Nordy’s and you see a top that is serenity, buttercup, rose quartz and colorblocked? YOU BUY IT!

IMG_8878[1]IMG_8894[1]IMG_8895[1]IMG_8901[1]IMG_8898[1]IMG_8896[1]

Not only does this top contain 3 of the seasons hottest colors, but the asymmetrical color block design make it a season must have! The fit is perfectly structured, but the raw edge seams make it the ultimate match for my all time favorite distressed denim. Because the colors in this top are so soft yet colorful, pairing it with neutrals is your best bet. I am typically all about the nudes, but that would have washed this top out.  I went for more a darker shade of tan to make the colors pop. Remember the piece that you built your outfit around that day, everything else should compliment that piece not overpower it. In my case, it was this top.I linked the exact style below along with another style that has definitely made its way to my wishlist.

Did you all have an amazing weekend?! I hope so! Ours stayed pretty busy! If we could just get that extra day in between Saturday and Sunday, all would be good! Haha, a girl can dream right?! The Mr. and I are gearing up for another jam packed week. I will only be in the office for two days this week as I will be heading to New Orleans Wednesday for work. That means the 2 days in will be extra crazy! You know how that goes! More coffee please! 🙂

Wishing you all a blessed (and quick) week!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Off The Shoulder + Denim

IMG_8812[1]

I thought I was so cool when I came across this red tile wall. The bright shade would make so many outfits pop! Then I attended the Sugar & Cloth color wall launch party this past Tuesday and realized my cool wall isn’t really that cool anymore, lol! Check out these pics from the event!

IMG_8822[1]

**picture shown above was taken from the Sugar & Cloth instagram page

Now you see what I’m saying! If you are in the Houston area be sure to go check it out when you can and if you are not in the Houston area be sure to put it on your must see list when you come visit! I’m not sure the inflatable props and balloons will still be out there, but BYOI (bring your own inflatables)! Check out their site here for address details!

Okay, so maybe my wall find wasn’t as fabulous as the fun new Sugar & Cloth paint wall, but this outfit is still blog worthy!

I can’t get enough of this off the shoulder trend! I am especially swooning over this sweet eyelet detail top from Francesca’s! It is so feminine and of course I paired it with distressed denim because…well that’s what I do! 🙂  The sun was shining on this particular day so I felt like this outfit needed a pop of color so I threw on my red heels. And can we talk about this post office inspired clutch. Emoji heart eyes times a million!

This makes for the perfect weekend outfit! What do you all have planned this weekend?! Will it include an off the shoulder OOTD?!

Thanks for stopping by loves!

Double Denim +Marley Lilly

Ahhh, Monday we meet again! 🙂

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! We had some gorgeous weather here in Houston and the sun was finally shining reminding us it really is Spring! I was starting to wonder when that gloomy weather we were having was going to see itself out! 🙂

Today I am sharing a super cute denim on denim look and if you love monogram items as much as I do you are going to love this!

IMG_8388[1]IMG_8392[1]IMG_8389[1]IMG_8387[1]

Seriously, what is it about monogram that makes everything 10 times cuter?! Take this hat for example, a basic peach baseball cap would have never had my attention, but throw some Marley Lilly magic on here and VOILA, I’ll take them in all colors!! If you aren’t familiar with Marley Lilly be sure to check them out here for all of your monogram needs (and more!). If you love the personalized touch as much as I do I may have just gotten you into a lot of trouble! #sorrynotsorry LOL!

IMG_8383[1]

Top (and similar here) | Denim (similar here and here) | Shoes | c/o Hat | c/o Bracelet | Belt |Bag

Also, peach echo is one of the hottest spring 2016 Pantone colors so this cap is the perfect accessory for adding the hue into a rather casual look. I accessorized my double denim look with my favorite nude heels. Since I’m so short I like to wear heels at every possible opportunity…even when I’m wearing a baseball cap 🙂 I also wore a skinny nude belt here to break up the denim and well this Target bag was calling for me as I walked by it to grab shampoo. You know how that goes! I am loving the shade of this bag. It’s almost like a chambray. I could have titled this post, Denim on Denim on Chambray đŸ™‚  or denim denim denim (like that Mario’s Brothers joke!) Have you guys heard that one?! LOL 🙂 🙂 🙂

Okay, well I’ll continue to crack myself up over here and let you guys enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by guys! I really appreciate you!

White Lace + Cutoff Denim

Could you imagine living in an era where pairing delicate lace and cutoff denim shorts or denim in general was unheard of?! Thank goodness we are in the 21st century where anything goes!

If you feel pretty in it, wear it!!

IMG_8291[1]IMG_8292[1]

What inspired this outfit you ask? Well…this bipolar Houston weather to be honest! LOL 🙂

This Houston weather can’t really decide what it wants to do so denim shorts and long sleeve tops it is!

I love mixing really feminine pieces with denim for an edgier look. Here it’s the delicate lace top with cutoff shorts and another favorite combo of mine is a feminine floral top with heavily distressed denim. I chose to accessorize with black sandals and a clutch to top off the cool gal vibe.

Jumping Into Spring with Nordstrom

“Thank you God for blessing me with much more than I deserve.”

Starting this post with the quote above seemed the most appropriate. I strive to be a better human being/Christian every single day, but some days things happen that make me look up and say “Whoa! Thank you! What did I do to deserve this?!” You can safely assume that was the first thing that came to mind a couple weeks ago when I was communicating with a PR rep about a potential collaboration only to find out days later it was Nordstrom! When Nordstrom calls on you, you say YES!

So my sweet friends, I am happy to share with you today that I will be collaborating with Nordstrom in the upcoming months to share with you some of my favorite spring & summer trends. Let’s start it off strong with this MUST HAVE culotte jumpsuit!

IMG_8232[1]IMG_8227[1]IMG_8224[1]IMG_8229[1]IMG_8225[1]IMG_8234[1]IMG_8222[1]IMG_8226[1]

Affiliate Links: c/o Nordstrom Jumpsuit | Shoes | Earrings | Bracelet | Handbag

I feel very strongly about rompers and jumpsuits! Yes, so strongly that even though they may be the most inconvenient and most awkward piece of clothing when trying to use a public restroom I still buy one every time I go shopping. I’m basically saying “yes one piece you are so adorable that I am okay with having to get all the way undressed each time I have to use the restroom”. LOL, but really.

Culottes on the other hand, I wasn’t too sure about at first. I mean I absolutely love the style, but I didn’t know how the silhouette would look on me. You know what? After trying them on this past weekend at Nordy’s, I LOVE them!

I am especially loving this particular style because you can easily wear this to a spring wedding and you best believe I will be pairing it with a blazer for the office! A culotte jumpsuit that’s versatile? Count me in!

The pretty blush, cream and gray geo print make this black jumpsuit perfect for the spring season! Because there is not much leg/ankle showing due to my short self I opted for a simple, single strap heel. I paired it with a nude Steve Madden heel here, but I am now on the hunt for a perfect blush pair to wear with this jumpsuit! Keep your eye out for me please!

Have you all tried culottes yet? Do you love it? Hate it? I would love to hear! If you haven’t tried them on I suggest you do!

Please stay tuned for more Nordstrom collaborations in the upcoming weeks! Also, if you aren’t following me on Snapchat come find me (roselyn_m)! This way you’ll get all of the behind the scenes shopping action on my next Nordstrom trip! Plus it’s a fun way to get to see a silly, unedited version of myself so come find me and I’ll add you back!

Thank you so much for your continued support and for stopping by!

Have a blessed week!

T-Shirt Dresses & Adidas Superstars

I highly recommend the t-shirt dress for so many reasons. Not only are they so versatile to be able to dress up and down, but this “flattering on all body types” dress doesn’t care if you are having a bloated day 🙂 It’s like the comfort equivalence of yoga pants but with a more “I took some time to put myself together today” look! I’ll take one in all colors available please!

IMG_8007[1]IMG_8011[1]IMG_8010[1]IMG_8008[1]IMG_8013[1]IMG_8012[1]

I took a more sporty spice approach for my t shirt dress look this day. A beaded necklace and customized superstars is how I chose to style my dress for a day of running errands

It Takes Two To Make A Thing Go Right

It takes two to make it outta sight!

{Insert me doing the running man here!}

Do you guys remember that song? OMG, it brings back so many memories of my break dancing days. Okay, maybe I didn’t breakdance, but my brothers did and they always practiced in our garage so basically it’s like I was a break dancer too 🙂 Also, I think it is worth mentioning that my brothers and their friends were nice enough to let us start a girl group. Yup, we made up dance routines, performed at every school talent show, had matching jackets and everything! LOL I need to find a video or pictures for a good throwback Thursday post!

Anyway, this post isn’t just about how great my friends and I were at dance routines! It is actually about the adorable 2 piece trend that you need in your wardrobe so I am linking up so many great styles below.

I love this trend for an effortlessly pretty look! I mean two matching pieces that were designed to go together? Getting dressed doesn’t get easier than this! I purchased the set above last year so unfortunately it is sold out, but I am linking so many great styles below! You’re welcome! 🙂

Show A Little Skin (Tastefully)

Oh you know, typical Sunday night over here. Laundry has been put away, meals for the week are done, Brandon is catching up on The Walking Dead, I’m relaxing in my baggy pajama pants talking about how to tastefully show a little skin in your day time OOTD 🙂

Dressing up for a hot date night out with your hubby is a little easier than trying to bring the sexy to your day time look. For a date or a GNO you can throw on your little black mini or that new body con dress you just bought, but that may not be the look you are going for before sunset. 🙂 A great example for some day time sass is the side slit detail on this floral dress I posted Friday. Feminine with a touch of sexy. Another great example of looking oh so sexy and still classy is the hot hot HOT off the shoulder trend! That is a great way to get a little risquĂ© with your day look and still look extremely classy! Another easy option to step up your sexy is the lace up trend!

IMG_7916[1]IMG_7918[1]IMG_7919[1]IMG_7920[1]IMG_7917[1]IMG_7799[1]Like Madonna says “Express Yourself!” 🙂

Top (similar styles here and here) | Denim (similar) | Heels | Clutch (similar) | Ring

Do you guys love this lace up trend as much as I do?! Which looks do you like to wear to add a little sexy to your day time look? I would love to hear!

Thanks for stopping by beauties! Wishing you an amazing week!

P.S. A special birthday shout out to one of my most amazing, best friends Rachel! Love this lady so much! Of course she was born on the first day of Spring because that is how much happy she brings into my life!

Twirl Into Spring With Shop The Mint

The Mint Julep Boutique launched in 2012, quickly broke into the retail world and grew their social media following to where it is today. Talk about ultimate boss babes! After browsing their site and chatting with “The Mint Girls” I am not surprised of their ever growing success. Not only is the wide selection of product oh so cute, but the customer service is top notch and you can totally tell the team takes pride in what they do!

I chose this “perfect for any event” mint dress. The delicate crochet and lightweight fabric on the Vision in Vintage dress make it perfect for any of your upcoming spring or summer events.

Isn’t this dress so fun and pretty? I’m sure you can think of all the places you could wear it! You can pair it with sandals for brunch or a picnic in the park! Then dress it up with heels for a bridal shower! I mention those three events because that is what I have scheduled for this upcoming weekend! Any events you will be dressing up for this weekend? Yes, it is Monday and I am already talking about the weekend LOL.

On a side note- I am sitting here with a crazy fever, sore throat and sweating (a little less pretty of a picture then what you see above 🙁 ) Praying I will get better fast!!

I hope you all had a great first Monday after daylight savings! Who knew one hour could throw off your whole life? Haha!

Thanks for stopping by loves!
