Have you ever found an item and thought to yourself “this would be so perfect if only it was sleeveless or the neckline was different or if it had pockets!”? If your answer to this question is yes, girl do I have the site for you!
Dress (this print is no longer available so I linked up the similar silhouette) | Sandals (similar here and here) | Earrings
Not only was I swooning over the mixed prints on this colorful dress but I was also able to customize the length so that this maxi would fit my 5 foot 3 (a half) inches self! Sometimes I struggle with fitted dresses around the rib cage area (too tight) but since I was able to customize measurements this dress fits so perfectly. And being able to add pockets to any dress is a win in my book!
eShakti has so many styles from sizes 0-36w that you can customized to your liking. Plus they add new styles every week! How perfect, right?! All you have to do is:
This post was done in collaboration with Shein. Have you ever ordered from them before? They reached out to me a couple of weeks ago and to be completely honest I was hesitant at first because I have heard both good and bad things about the website. Like anything else in life, I had to try it out and see for myself. To my surprise I received my item quickly and the quality was good!
Not only did I want to share this oh so pretty dress with you but I wanted to talk about why reviews are important. Have you ever purchased a swimsuit or bra online? I use these examples because these are probably the most difficult items to purchase without trying on. If you are anything like me and love shopping online then purchasing swimsuits and bras online is inevitable. If I am not familiar with a brand what really helps me is reading the product reviews. Aside from the product descriptions and measurement guide I really trust the product reviews. I really appreciate the shoppers who take the time to give their real life feedback like, “I’m usually a true medium but it was pretty small around the chest area. I think I’ll keep it though because a large will definitely be too big”. Reviews like that are very helpful and really help me make a decision when buying online.
Now back to Shein and please give me your feedback on your personal experience because I have heard a lot of different reviews from friends!
I chose this dress and another. I loved them both equally but as I was reading through the customer reviews of the other dress I noticed a lot of negative comments like “fit is horrible and dress did not look the photo”.
This dress on the other hand was exactly as pictured and since it is a white dress I expected I would have to wear a slip underneath. The material is actually pretty thick that you won’t have to wear a slip and thank goodness for that with this Texas heat! However, the top area runs a little big so if you are in between sizes I would definitely size down for this particular style. That was also noted in the reviews by multiple customers so that definitely helped me decide on size.
Also, I’m not sure if you saw my 72 second snapchat rant during the weekend, but I talked about my blog reviews. I always write 100% honest reviews on The Style_Lynn Kind. I wouldn’t post anything on my blog that I wouldn’t use or wear myself. I don’t want any readers to come across my blog or any of my blogger friends’ blogs (say that 5x fast!) and think we say things because we are getting paid.
In the past I have agreed to work with companies on reviews, but once I received the product it was not the quality I had expected so I kindly reached back out and said I couldn’t write the review on my blog. This space is not to bad mouth product or to put negative energy out there. This space is here because I spend time searching and trying brands, products and affordable finds that I love so I can share them with you. If I don’t like a product or brand I just chose not to work or write about them. I’m not wasting my time writing a whole negative post. Ain’t nobody got time for that! 🙂
If you asked me personally or sent me an email asking about a product that I didn’t have a good experience with then I would be honest with you because that’s helpful, but I’m not here to put anyone or anything on blast.
Okay sorry, sorry. My 72 second rant turned into multiple paragraphs, haha! I just needed to put that out there.
So basically, my overall review for my Shein experience was good! Quality was good, fit was great, and shipping was quick! The shipping may have been really quick because they knew I was doing a review (just being honest). Remember this product is coming from overseas which it states online as well so be prepared for it to take a little longer than what you are used to from your favorite department store.
If you are debating on ordering something from them:
1) Let it be this dress 🙂
2) READ the reviews before making that final decision to add it to your cart!
I would love to hear your feedback on this topic or on your Shein experience!
Thank you so much for reading guys!

What is everyone up to this weekend?! I would love to hear! If you haven’t watched Captain America: Civil War, I totally recommend adding it to your to do list! The Mr. and I watched it a few weekends ago and as soon as he asked me if I wanted to go I immediately knew what I wanted to wear. A long kimono so when I walked it looked like a superhero cape, DUH! : )
I am obsessed with the movement in long kimonos. The feeling of it flowing in the wind is somewhere between super model and super hero. I mean who doesn’t want to be either of those, right?!
You can see that the look I went with for date day was denim casual, but I would like to share 2 other ways you can rock this trend!
Fact: I get it from my momma. 🙂 Just kidding Dad, I get it from you too!
As you could tell from my Instagram and Snapchat, I was enjoying sunny California last weekend celebrating my niece’s high school graduation. I was on the phone with my Mom as I was packing and the first thing she said to me was “Can you bring that white, off the shoulder top?” After that, I knew it would never see my closet again but I ain’t mad about it because look how cute it looks on her!
Mom’s Look: This Francesca’s top is sold out, but linking up a similar one here and here | Denim (similar) | Heels
I must contribute my fashion sense to every person in my family. My Mom, my Dad and my brothers are always on point. Maybe my Dad more so because my Mom always wants him to match her, but even growing up my brothers were always about the latest trends! Yes, maybe back then it was cross colors and high hair (so you are closer to Jesus) but you better believe they were helping their little sis get that perfect high pony with aquanet through the hole in top of my baseball cap!
If you just understood everything I just said, call me because we are destined to be best friends! 🙂
Okay, back to my Mom. She seriously has such great style. If I still lived in California she for real would be in my blog posts all the time. We actually own many of the same items, but style them so differently and I hate to admit it but she may be rocking this top a little better than I did. 🙂 Thanks Francesca’s!
My Look: I am so sad this dress is already sold out guys! I literally just bought it. I’m so sorry! Linking up equally cute bell sleeve dresses here, here, here, here and here | Heels | Sunnies | Clutch (similar)
Needless to say, I had another amazing weekend with my family and my niece was very happy with her graduation party. Brandon and I will be hosting her in Houston this summer as part of her grad gift. I can’t wait!

Any week that consists of flying home to California to spend time with family (and only a 3 day work week) is considered a great one in my book!
I don’t know about you, but I love my early morning flights! I like not feeling rushed during my last day in the office since I still have the evening to do my last minute packing or errands and then get up the next day, fly and still have that entire day to enjoy at my destination. And by early morning, I mean alarm is set for 3am. I know it may sound crazy, but I like landing early so I still have the entire day to enjoy my destination. In this case, my family!
So whether you are flying at 4am or 4pm I am sharing some easy tips to ensure you stay airport chic.
Top (this exact top is sold out, but here are some equally cute and comfy ones: sweatshirt and tee | Denim (similar here and here) | Sandals | Sunnies
COMFORT
You can still look chic and be comfortable. I am literally wearing my pajama tee in these pictures guys but dressed up with comfy distressed jeans you may have never known. A cute graphic tee and flats are pieces that guarantee comfort but still stylish. No one over the age of 7 should be wearing pajama pants to the airport. I promise you there are many closet essentials that are just as comfortable! Leggings, graphic tee, cute poncho, boyfriend jeans, embroidered tunic, button down top, maxi dress, etc. So there, I just listed 7 reasons no one should be in pajama pants at the airport.
LAYERS
I always bring a layering piece because I am freezing on the plane once we take off. A blanket scarf or a light jacket are good options so you take off and put on as you please.
ACCESSORIES
Keep the accessories to a minimum so that you can get through security quickly. I will be totally honest and tell you that I do not always follow this rule. I mean if a statement necklace is making my airpot OOTD, sorry not sorry hubby and person behind me in line. 🙂 Also, a side note is that TSA pre check is totally worth paying for. Keep your shoes on, laptops in the bag and all that jazz, but sometimes even my statement jewels don’t make it through pre check. That’s a risk I am willing to take.
FLIGHT ESSENTIALS
Sunglasses and headphones! Whether it’s 3AM or 2PM I am sitting on the plane with my sunnies and headphones. Although I am an extremely friendly person and love to meet a “stranger” there’s something about a plane and the lack of personal space that unless we are traveling together (friends, family, husband) I don’t really want to jibber jabber. 🙂
**Okay another side note, I have been wanting to use the term “jibber jabber” for the longest time! Brandon said that in conversation a few months ago and I have never heard that term used before. I am seriously cracking up as I type this and just got inspiration for a new post! Haha! Stay tuned!!
I hope you all are having an amazing weekend and day so far! I had a fun filled weekend between a bachelorette party and a Sunday (too much) fun day I think today is going to be a little more low key 🙂 The Mr. got back from the Indy 500 last night and since all of these super hero movies are out I predict we will end up at the theatre today, but soaking up all the time I can in my pajamas!
Also, taking advantage of this down time to do some online shopping during my favorite sale of the year!! Below are items I am currently coveting and are all in my cart right now, haha! I will need to scale it back a bit so which items should I choose?!
You can never go wrong with black and white! I accessorized with bright pink earrings and nude heels to “summer up” this look! Unfortunately, these exact shorts are sold out, but I linked up 2 must have pairs above!
What are your plans for the Memorial day weekend?! The Mr. will be out of town attending the Indy 500. He goes every year for “work”. Such a hard life he lives! LOL 🙂
I will be staying back in Houston celebrating a girlfriend’s bachelorette party and then I will be spending some much needed quality time, pool side, with some of my best friends. If you aren’t following me on snap (roselyn_m) you may want to start now as I’m pretty funny after a few glasses of champs! 🙂 I’d love to hear what you are all up to!
As always, thank you so much for reading! Wishing you all a weekend that is as fabulous as you are!
1 Palm Print Dress = 2 Pretty Looks With Nordstrom
Fun prints have quickly filled my closet this season and I ain’t mad about it! Does this slip dress look familiar? I linked it a few weeks ago in a post here. It’s so comfy and can be styled so many ways. If you guys only wanted to buy one dress this summer make it this one (in all colors)! Haha!
This dress is as comfy as it is versatile! I love the many ways you can style this look and I absolutely adore the vibrant palm print against the pink!
Isn’t this look so fun?! Totally weekend and travel appropriate! Forgive me as my mind has totally been ready for a vacation! This outfit is also perfect for running errands, yada yada haha!
Another great styling option would be with a cute denim jacket or if you are in the Texas heat like me then a denim vest will be equally as cute!
This printed slip dress is so perfect for a night out especially paired with a cape blazer. I love how the cape blazer dresses up the look, but unlike a regular blazer it definitely brings a little more sass!
I hope you all are having a great week so far, but no matter how great the week we are all still looking forward to a long weekend! Am I right?!
Thank you all so much for reading! Happy Wednesday!

Yes it’s Monday and yes I’m already talking about the coming weekend 🙂
I am all about getting festive for every National holiday, but going out and buying something new for every holiday can get costly so today I am sharing 2 Memorial Day inspired outfits that I pulled out of my closet and instantly made holiday appropriate with 1 simple accessory, a bandana!
Accessorizing with bandanas are all the rage right now so if you have been wanting to try the trend now is the time!
So I have 2 confessions. First one is that I purchased both of these bandanas at the Dollar Tree last year! They were actually part of my table décor for the 4th of July but this year they will be part of my ensemble. Second confession is that both pairs of sunglasses shown above were purchased at souvenir shops LOL. The American flag ones were from our DC trip in February. I was itching to wear them again!
So throw on your favorite white tee and jeans or your favorite romper, accessorize with a bandana and you will be on trend ready to celebrate a much needed 3 day weekend!
But let’s not forget the real reason of the Memorial Day celebration. We must pay our respects to those who have died for our freedom and let’s also be sure to thank those for their service any chance we get! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I can’t wait to see your upcoming bandana accessorizing!
I really should be calling this post woman crush wednesday because I am kind of crushing on this total boss babe winemaker, business woman and mother named Gloria Collell.
“Gloria is from a family dedicated to wine so naturally many of Gloria’s memories growing up revolve around wine: the aroma of the bodega when the barrels would be filled by the wholesaler; the fairs where, even as a child, she helped her parents show wine; and most of all, the tastings her family conducted at home”.
Mia wines hosted a dinner and tasting at Armandos last Tuesday evening. When I received the invitation I had not yet heard of Mia wines, but I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to meet the winemaker herself and to learn more about the brand/wine.
I had the honor to be seated at the same table as Gloria. As expected, she presented gracefully and explained each wine as we tasted it with food, but it was the intimate table conversation where I came to realize that she truly was in tuned and interested in the consumer’s feedback about the wines.
When describing the brand and her vision, she stated that it was a creation for the modern consumer. I would describe someone like myself as a modern consumer. An individual who loves a good glass of wine but by no means is a wine connoisseur. When it comes to wine, my pallet knows what it likes, but my wine vocabulary lacks in a sense that I could not tell you what key “notes” I favored. Does this sound like you? I know I like white wine but I don’t like it too sweet. I know I like red wine but I don’t want it too dry or “oakey”. This may sound silly and pretty simple to a wine connoisseur yet it seemed as if no one else was listening to the modern consumer…until now.
Like I said I was very lucky to be able to converse with Gloria as she shared the consumer and marketing research they did to ensure the brands success. She was very knowledgeable in the industry and the wine definitely validate that her and the Mia team are listening to what the modern consumer is asking for. The wine is fresh, easy to drink and budget friendly! It’s the type of wine you can stock up on for those unexpected guests and serve to everyone’s satisfaction.
The 2 wines that tied as my favorite were the Red and the White, then the Moscato Rose, Moscato and Rose all tied for second 🙂
Mia wines can be purchased in a few Specs locations as of today and the Moscato Rose can be found in a few HEB’s, however have no fear as they have shipments currently on the water from Barcelona and you can expect to find them in more Spec’s ad HEB’s at the beginning of June! MSRP range from $9-$12.
Also, friends and family do not be surprised when you get a bottle or two in your next birthday basket!
Have you tried this lovely wine yet?! I would love to hear your thoughts!
