Walk In Love

It is well with my soul.

These words are so strong and meaningful. What makes you feel this way? As we celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread we are reminded to ask ourselves, “what have I learned since last Passover?” and “what have I done to become a better Christian?”

Leaven is a food additive which causes many products such as bread to rise. During the Feast of Unleavened Bread it represents sin. We remove leaven from our homes and from our daily routines to show that we are “cleansing” both visible and hidden sins from our lives.

I have listened to sermons and read quite a bit on this topic but living through your first couple years of the Feast of Unleavened Bread really teaches you something. I mean let’s think about this, I eat a piece of wheat toast every morning, I keep baking soda in the house for so many reasons and the weeks leading up to Dad’s big 70th birthday celebration this past weekend all I could think about was how many red velvet cupcakes I was going to eat because weekend calories don’t count! đŸ™‚  Even though I was being conscious as the feast began at sundown on Friday, I still went to grab a cupcake Saturday evening without even thinking about it. That’s how easily sin comes into our lives and how easily we can give into it.

I didn’t publish this post to tell you guys not to eat cupcakes (because that’s crazy!) but no matter how many times I hear scripture or read a verse depending on the day I hear/read it a different way. Does this happen to you too?

We’re humans guys, so even when you are living your life trying to do no wrong the opportunity to sin will always present itself. With God, we are much stronger than any evil.

“So, the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a time to concentrate on putting the righteousness of Jesus Christ (the true “bread of life”) into our lives (Galatians 2:20). Naturally, the more we do that, the more sin will be kept out. To overcome sin, we must “not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21). In other words, the more Christ is living in us and the more we are living righteously, the less opportunity there will be for the leaven of sin to find a place in our lives. Living by—eating fully of—the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth is the key to purging out the “old leaven” of sin.”

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! The Mr. and I were in California celebrating Dad’s 70th birthday! Lord knows that good man deserves a big one and we were so happy to be there to celebrate another year with him!

Any weekend with the family is the best weekend! More about his special night coming to the blog later this week!

As always, thanks so much for reading loves!

Graphic Tee Chic + SiammPatra

I like to call this look “business on top, party on bottom” 🙂 LOL

Tee (similar here and here) | Shorts (similar here and here) | Blazer (similar here, here and here) | Heels (similar here and here) | Earrings | Bracelet | Prada Sunnies (use code stylelynn20 at checkout for a free months subscription) | Hat (similar here and here)

I am a firm believer that a blazer goes with everything. Wearing this fun graphic tee and cut off shorts alone kind of make me feel like I’m trying to dress like a 21 year old. Okay, maybe I still shop at Forever 21 and maybe some days I still feel like I’m 21, but Lord knows those days are long gone, haha!

This doesn’t mean I am going to shy away from the pieces I love the most! On my “not really feeling it” days, bloated days or my “I just want the world to know how I feel today without saying a word” days, graphic tees are perfect. You can see my past posts here and here on how much I love them and enjoy styling them different ways. So the days of running out of the house with a tee, cut off shorts and flip flops have grown into glamming that look up a bit with a blazer, nice heel/wedge and the perfect accessories to complete the look that’s where SiammPatra has got you covered.

Can we take a moment to talk about how pretty this bracelet is? The minimal and chic design make it the perfect added touch for any outfit. Holy chic is right! Check out this exact bracelet here and look forward to more looks with these jewels because I adore them so much! Also, you can shop the SiammPatra bedazzled collection here with code STYLELYNN for 20% off.

Happy shopping loves and thank you so much for reading!!

Airport Wear

“Eat well. Work Hard. Love Truly. Travel Often.”

I was hoping to share our fun Boston adventures with you today, but I have been fighting this crazy migraine all day (ugh!) so instead I’ll just share my airport look for now!

If we have a midday flight I like to look a little more dressed up anticipating we will be doing something fun immediately after we land, but we had a late night flight to Boston this last trip so this was my “I’d rather be in pajamas but I don’t want to look like a slob in public look”! 🙂

Rule number one, always bring a layering piece. It is always so stuffy and hot before take off then during the flight it’s somewhere between 15 degrees and “excuse me can  get a blanket?” A jacket is always needed!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! I was lucky enough to attend my first blogger conference, Thrive! I had the chance to listen, learn, and be surrounded by hard working women and entrepreneurs all part of the blogging community! I left so inspired! I even got to participate in a mini photo session with my Thrive Tribe. 🙂 More details coming real soon I promise! Until then, praying for these migraines to disappear!

Again, thank you so much for stopping by the blog guys! I appreciate each and every one of you!

Off Duty Uniform

“Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti”

I typically choose my #ootd based on how I am feeling on that particular day,  but I think it is safe to say that a graphic tee and blazer is usually what I like to spend the majority of my time in. This outfit definitely includes some of my favorite go-to essentials! Blazer. Denim (although I would typically opt for distressed). Fun Heels. Graphic tee that says it all for me!

Though my favorite jeans are distressed ones those aren’t exactly acceptable to the office yet so I cleaned up this look with some perfect skinnies by Flying Monkey. Also, with this Houston weather that can’t decide what it wants to do, layering is definitely key and chic blazers make it easy! I accessorized with some fun floral heels to brighten up my outfit! It’s always nice to throw in an element of surprise!

I hope you all are having a great week! Be sure to check out Dot and Joy for other fun graphic tees. Let’s finish off this week with what this tee tells us to do “Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti”! Aim each day to make one person smile. Whether its a friend or a complete stranger. Everyone is fighting their own battle that we may never know about.

Thanks for stopping by babes! Sending you all good vibes!

Not only is this ultra chic tank super soft that you won’t want to take it off, but once you put it on you will feel like an instant bad a$$! Well, at least I did 😉

London Berry Apparel only produces a limited amount of each design ensuring your tee a uniqueness. I had the honor of communicating with the Principle Owner & Founder of the brand who was able to further explain the design behind this specific foil print Marilyn Monroe tank. Andre states, “I started reading many quotes and writings from her personal journals; the quote I decided to use on the design to many really reflected who I thought and many others believed she was. I wanted to include a rarely seen part of her life that would strengthen her quote; her Los Angeles Police Department arrest number and then her icon signature. These three traits together would represent who I felt I had come to know in my research. A woman who was not going to be defined by the mistakes she made in life or relationships with famous baseball players or the President but more of a woman who was strong, good, sad, happy but most of all a woman who wanted to be loved.”

Maybe his statement was what had me already wanting to put on this tank and feel like I could rule the world LOL. I can tell that everyone behind this label is extremely passionate about what they do and what they design and I love that! Be sure to check out their site here for so many other great styles! I have my eye on quite a few that I will need to add to my wardrobe! I can’t wait!

I hope you had a beautiful Thanksgiving celebration with your family and friends! I hope you are all not shopped out yet because remember it’s Small Business Saturday! Support your favorite local boutiques and coffee shops! Be sure to check out my previous post for some of my favorite small businesses!

Wishing you all a perfect Saturday!

As always THANK YOU for stopping by!

This is 32

“Today is the oldest you’ve been and the youngest you’ll ever be again”

I remember turning 25 like it was yesterday. I was so nervous because that meant I was “almost 30”! But today I turn 32 and I couldn’t be happier or any less nervous. I have been blessed with an amazing family, amazing husband, and amazing friends. By no way, shape or form is my life perfect, but it’s all about perspective. God has blessed me with good health so I get myself to the gym regularly to continue to take care of what is. I have been blessed with a great job in a not so perfect economy so I make the most of it even on the hardest days. I have loving parents who I can still call everyday so I do. (Even if you are thousands of miles away from your parents, don’t forget to call them guys.) I have been blessed with more time so I continue to pursue my additional goals and dreams. It’s never too late to do something you’ve always wanted to do and it’s definitely not to late to fulfill a new passion. And last but not least I have been blessed with the power to choose. Things, obstacles and people are put into our path of life. Some good and some bad. We are to choose who and what we surround ourselves with. I choose positive people, I choose fun people, I chose the ones that choose to love and I choose honesty. That is what makes turning 32 so amazing!

Thank you again so, SO much for stopping by to read my blog posts. I appreciate your guys’ messages, emails and comments on instagram so much. Taking the time to share your words with me in this busy life is a wonderful thing and I don’t take it for granted!

Happy Saturday & Happy Halloween! Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Dress It Up & Dress It Down!

“Playing dress up begins at age 5 and never truly ends.”

-Kate Spade

Where should I start, this skirt or this cute tee?!  Okay… let’s start with this tee, I mean HELLO, can we say must have?! T&J Designs has so many cute styles it was SO hard to decide on which one to get! Check out their site and you’ll see what I’m talking about! I love graphic tees because you can wear them with your favorite jeans and heels and feel sexy & still comfortable or you can dress them up with your favorite skirt like I did yesterday and add a little bit of glamour to your “casual Friday”. Also, I love fun graphic tanks for workouts. My favorite this week, “Gym Hair Don’t Care”. It basically tells everyone how I feel without having to say a word. 🙂 And doesn’t it seem so much easier to get to the gym when your workout clothes are just as cute? I sure think so.

Okay, now this skirt. I can’t get enough of the maxi skirts! Number one reason is that they make my 5’3 (and a half)” self look and feel so much taller! And this vibrant pink is definitely a color that I will sport all year around! Neons in the fall? Why not?!

Because I am so obsessed with graphic tees and maxi skirts I linked up a few of my favorites below. All under $50 and don’t forget to sign up for T&J’s mailing list for 15% off of your next order, you’re welcome 🙂
