I have had a lot of people ask me who my photographer is and I laugh when I answer “my husband”. Every once in a while I am fortunate enough to work with a photographer and sometimes I can even bribe my sweet friend Nicole with brunch, but yes it’s true that the Mr. takes the majority of my blog photos. He never really cared to be credited or anything like that.
Well, that was until last week when Old Navy posted one our photos. SO SO exciting!! And all of sudden he was like “you didn’t even mention me in that post!” LOL. That guy….
It is a very happy Friday when I’m on California soil 🙂 If you didn’t catch the behind the scenes action on Snapchat yesterday I’ll be sure to give you an update soon on why the quick work trip to California that included some of my sweet family, but today let’s talk about some fall trends you need!
I know with the ever changing trends some may feel overwhelmed with what pieces they need to add to their wardrobe each season. I will be sharing some of my favorite trends for fall throughout the next couple of months and today we will start with 4 of my favorites.
Wow, seriously where did the month of August go?! It seems like it was yesterday I was sharing my favorite Spring trends with you all! I’m excited to announce I have partnered up with Nordstrom to continue to share my favorite trends with you for the rest of the year!
It’s funny because my very first Nordstrom collaboration (here) featured a jumpsuit. As you will see, jumpsuits are still my jam!
Did you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving? Full of love, laughs and lots of turkey?! Good! Same here! The Mr. and I hosted Thanksgiving for the 3rd year this year and it turned out amazing. At least if my cooking really was horrible his sweet family would never tell me and they keep coming back every year so I must be doing something right! LOL
I also ran the Houston Turkey Trot 10K as I have for the past 4 years and the weather was just perfect for it! I wish I would have gotten pictures of all of the turkey costumes and tutus!
Did anyone brave the Black Friday crowds?! Or were there crowds? I read retail sales were somewhere down 10% from last year, YIKES! I remember being a retail Buyer and I don’t miss having to come back to that division meeting after the weekend. On the plus side I hear online sales increased and I can say I attributed to that. 🙂 You’re welcome stores all over the globe! Would love to hear what your buys were! If you are loving this vest, plaid top and shoes as much as I am you can still get them at 40% off by shopping the links above!
“Competition makes us faster; Collaboration makes us better”
I’m sure it’s no secret that I love accessories so when Mirina Collections reached out regarding a collaboration my answer was “heck yes!”. I love a good statement piece like this necklace. I can throw on a basic tank with this necklace and feel like a million bucks! 🙂
Happy Tuesday friends! I hope everyone had an amazing Halloween weekend! As you know, it was my birthday weekend so Brandon and I celebrated with a long weekend in Memphis with some of our best friends. Oh my, it was SO much fun! We visited Graceland, the Civil Rights Museum, Beale Street and had the most delicious food! We tried to hit up all the “must try” eateries in our short time there. I’d say we were pretty successful! My favorite breakfast spot we went to was Bryant’s, favorite bakery was Muddy’s and favorite dinner was at Flight and….drinks were delicious everywhere, haha! I definitely left TN with my heart and belly full! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend just as much!
I know I’m not alone with this obsession of long sleeve maxi dresses and fur vests for Fall! As I add these pieces to my closet I continue to find more styles that need to be added as well 🙂 So this Wednesday wish list is all about these two must haves!
I hope you all are having a fabulous week so far! 2 more sleeps until Friday, woohoo! Brandon and I will be headed to Memphis with some of our Bff’s tomorrow for a long weekend birthday celebration. Can’t wait to explore the fun city with fun people! Wishing you all a great rest of the week!
Approximately 12 weeks ago I launched my blog. In this short 12 weeks I have met so many amazing people in the blogging community! The support and collaboration that I see everyday is extremely inspiring. I am so happy to be a part of this network and I am so grateful for all of my new followers! Today marks my 3 month anniversary from launching my blog AND it’s officially my BIRTHDAY WEEK!!!! Since I have gained some new followers I thought it would be fun to tell you all some things about me!
My birthday is on Halloween.
Until I was about 6 years old I thought everyone dressed up and brought candy to school because it was my birthday 🙂
My name is really spelled with two N’s, Roselynn (hence style_lynn), but I started writing my name with one N when I was little and my parents allowed me to continue spelling it this way. They knew I was born a free spirit. LOL. I still write and sign my name with one N.
I am 100% Filipina.
I was born in Guam.
I have always been a follower of Christ, but my faith has grown extremely stronger in the past 12 months.
I have 2 older brothers who I love so much and am very close to.
I have 7 handsome nephews and 3 beautiful nieces. My brothers (and sister in laws) stay busy. LOL
I truly admire and look up to my Mom and Dad. I inspire to be more like them each day. More loving, more kind, more hardworking, more faithful, more passionate and more selfless.
I eat 8-10 times a day. My husband especially likes it when I ask him to get me food at 10pm.
I feel extremely rested and refreshed after a solid 4 hours night sleep.
I have a deep love for my best friends that I just consider them family.
I love meeting new people.
I have an addiction to salty foods like chips and certain candy, but I don’t put salt on anything when I cook. Weird. I know.
My husband and I have been married for a year and eight months.
My one main fear is being electrocuted. I even think twice about changing a light bulb.
The first time I changed a light bulb was about a year ago when my husband MADE me to help me get over my fear. At that moment I wasn’t sure if he really loved me.
I own an online accessories boutique.
I really, super love rap music.
I grew up in California and all of my family is still there
I have two dogs, Tex and Cali. Get it? 🙂
I have a habit of saying “OMG” at the beginning of most of my sentences.
My favorite cocktail is an extra dirty martini.
I just asked my husband to give me a fun fact to share with my blog readers and he answered “never take her cheese” LOL! Long story short I was really hangry one day and I had put together cheese and crackers as a snack and he ate one before I did! Moral of the story is don’t touch a hangry woman’s food.
I am in love with anything fitness related and willing to try anything new. Although, my favorite thing is definitely weight training. This is probably a good thing since I really like to eat.
I work as a Buyer in Supply Chain.
I can honestly say that I truly love my boss (crazy right?!).
Thunderstorms really scare me. Like the first time I lived through a Texas one I was like “WTF is happening right now?”
I’m a list maker.
I love to cook, but have to follow a recipe exact step by step. I am not a natural at all.
My favorite color is blush pink. Can “prints” be counted as a color? If so, that’s my second favorite.
I chose to share 32 facts because in exactly 5 days I will be…you guessed it! 32!! 🙂
I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little bit more! Thank you for stopping by! Sending you so much love today and always!
I used to be so torn on whether I liked how the peplum looked on me. I adored how they looked on everyone else, but every time I tried one on I would be so disappointed that they never looked equally cute on me. Then I discovered there is a whole new world of peplum tops out there and I was just trying the wrong style for my body type. There are fitted styles where the peplum starts at the natural waistline. I truly adore this style and I continued to try it over and over, but because I have a short torso it doesn’t exactly look right on me (in my eyes at least). Every time I shopped I saw a peplum top I wanted and kept on trying them until I found the perfect one and I did friends! I have found that the peplum that falls a little below my natural waistline is the most flattering on me. I like the more loose fitting styles and my favorite of all time is the high low as seen in these pics! What I am saying girls, is that this must have silhouette can be flattering on any body type. I believe there is a peplum out there for everyone!:) Personally, I like to pair them up with straight slacks for the office and denim for a day out. Unfortunately, the Topshop style shown here is sold out online, but I linked up a few of my other favorite peplum tops and denim below.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and a great Monday! Well, as great as a Monday can be! My hubby and I enjoyed a get together with our sweet friends on Saturday and did some last minute shopping Sunday for Fiji trip at the end of this week! We are so very excited and I will be sharing some of my personal packing tips with you all once I get to packing…so expect a post on Thursday at midnight. LOL!
Thank you so much for stopping by friends! Have a wonderful evening!
Have you ever went on a crazy strict diet for an upcoming event? You did amazing and you ended up looking absolutely as you pictured for this gala, but then the next day you are walking around the kitchen like Pacman eating everything in site? Well, that basically describes my no shopping challenge! LOL
Look, I wasn’t sure I could complete the challenge to begin with so when I did I figured I deserved a little something or a few somethings 🙂 But in my defense (if my husband is reading this) I like shopping deals. It brings me great joy to find something at a steal of a price! I do occasionally splurge on high end pieces, but I really have to know that I will get a lot of use out of it and that I absolutely need it in my life. I am that person that will mostly wear something only once. I am an avid donator and am selling my once worn things all the time on Depop. So hey this is basically a win, win for everyone! The purchaser gets a great deal and I find the next deal which eventually will pass down to someone else in the near future! Anyway, with that being said I did quite the shopping overhaul this past weekend and I got some pretty amazing deals too so I wanted to share a few of them with you so that you could snag them before they are gone!
