Spring Style With Walmart

Thank you Walmart and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post!

The sun is shining here in Houston and I’m so excited about it! Today I am styling a chic, spring ready outfit with Walmart. If you have been following along for some time now you probably know how many times I have walked into Walmart for one thing and came out with 3 outfits, haha!

Just a few weeks ago I went in for a gift bag and came out with all the supplies to make a DIY denim jacket 🙂

I was so excited when they reached out to me regarding the #WeDressAmerica partnership because I am already a huge fan and now I don’t have to hear Brandon griping when he sends me in for wipes and I come out with 2 dresses, 4 shirts and 3 pairs of sandals 🙂

Did you all know that Walmart carries a ton of other brands like Circus by Sam Edelman and Lord + Taylor on Walmart.com? I actually just discovered that a couple of weeks ago when I was going to link these sandals for you. I typed in white sandals and all these cute Circus by Sam Edelman came up and I was officially sucked into online shopping for the next 45 minutes 🙂

Also, you get free 2 day shipping with any order over $35!

Outfit Details: Blazer | Denim | Sandals

I am constantly on the hunt for pieces that we can style for both the office and the weekend. This blazer and non distressed denim will definitely be those pieces! And I guarantee that these studded sandals will be some of my most worn shoes of the spring and summer!

I immediately fell in love with this pastel yellow, perfect for Spring, blazer. I can’t wait to wear it with denim shorts and wedges. It runs true to size and I am wearing a size 4.

These $22 straight leg denim jeans are super soft and also run true to size. I am wearing a 4. They feel like a jegging material so I was nervous that they were going to wrinkle easily but they don’t! You all know I am a crazy person about wrinkled clothes!

These Circus by Sam Edelman sandals are so cute that I bought them in both black and brown. As soon as I opened the box my Mom asked if she could have them, lol! I am wearing a 7 in these which is my true size but if you are in between sizes I would suggest sizing up!

And since a lot of people ask about what I order from Starbucks, I am drinking an iced americano with coconut milk here 🙂 My coffee order changes from time to time but straight up espresso with a splash of coconut milk is what your girl is drinking these days! 🙂

I hope you all love this outfit as much as I do! Let me know if you have any questions!

Mom’s First New York Fashion Week

Happy Friday! I got a cutie on the blog today! One I call Mom and baby Weaver calls Lola! 🙂 As you know, Mom attended her first fashion week this year and fit in oh so well! We may or may not have coordinated our outfits, haha! I absolutely adore my Mom and to be able to bring her along for a fashion week experience meant so much to me and her too.

Today I am sharing our coordinating looks 🙂 , some of her fashion week agenda plus a few things that will make you LOL

I was so fortunate this year to have worked with many agencies repeatedly that most of my invites were for a front row seat. So naturally Mom got to sit front row, receive swag bags, got all her photos taken by the photographer, etc. I was like “Mom, just know I didn’t have all this front row goodness my first show!” haha. She was loving it.

Mom also attended the Vogue Magazine x Kendra Scott party with me. She got to design her own charm earrings with the KS team and when they handed them to her she was like “these are free?” LOL. My Mom was cracking me up so much during fashion week. I literally need to write a post titled “overheard by Mila at fashion week”.

If you know my Mom at all you know that she is the sweetest, most loving and outgoing woman. But you probably also know that she is as blunt as they come. Not in a rude way, just in a Filipino, no filter kind of way, haha. There was a girl that had a huge, I mean HUGE (and gorgeous!) diamond ring on talking about how her husband designed it for her and my Mom responded with “is that real?” O…M…G… I literally just stood there for a moment didn’t even know what to do. After I picked my jaw off the floor and realized the girl didn’t respond I was just like yes, it’s real Mom then I tell the girl “your ring is stunning”, grab my Mom and just move onto the rest of the party and accept the fact we had an enemy in the room now, lol. It’s hilarious now but honestly I was terrified because I didn’t want that person to think my Mom was rude (she’s not at all!) she was just asking an honest question that other people may have been thinking.

Another funny thing that happened with Mom was we were at a fashion show and both people sitting next to us were videoing live on their Instagram and Facebook accounts. This outfit comes down the runway in front of us and Mom says “hmmm, no one is going to like that”. I didn’t know if we were going to get kicked out of there or if someone was going to hire her! Ahhhh, never a dull moment with my Mama!

We seriously had the best time and you can see why she kept me laughing the whole time. She kept telling me how thankful she was that she got to come and that just meant the world to me guys. When I first booked her flight out to NYC I was stressing out a little because fashion week is go, go, go. It’s not all glam life like it seems. I have back to back meetings, running all over the city and I just wanted to make sure I could schedule as much time as I could with my mom during this time. I am so thankful my aunt and cousins live in New York because they were able to take her to do all the tourist things while I was at meetings!

This might be too deep for a Friday but honestly, I am just at a point in my life that I know our time with our loved ones are limited and I will basically do anything my parents and family ask of me because we may never get that moment again. You know what I mean? So stressing out about schedules, having to pay for multiple hotel rooms, multiple Uber rides to my aunts house and back into the city were just minor things compared to the memories we created during such a special time with the most special person!

For some moments, we only get one chance.

Always Show Up For The Ones You Love

Happy Tuesday love bugs!

In honor of Father’s Day week I thought I would share a throw back picture of me and my sweet Dad 🙂 as well as one of my favorite life lessons from him.

Dad is full of amazing life lessons but one of the many things that I love about him is that he always showed us what kind of people to be, not just told us. Growing up, our family was so big into the Filipino American Association which meant we were constantly busy with parties and festivals.

Guess who was always there early helping to setting up. My Dad. Guess who was always there with the kitchen crew making sure everything was cooked and ready to go? My Dad. Guess who was always in the serving line, ready to serve people. My Dad. Guess who stayed late to help clean up (and made his kids help too). My Dad.

Now, can you guess who we can always count on if we need someone to talk to or just someone to be there? My Dad!

I want to be just like him in that my friends and family will always know that I will show up for them when they need me. #bemorelikeManny 🙂 He is always ready to do things for people without ever expecting anything from them. My Dad is the most sincere, kind and loving human being that if someone said anything bad about him, you’d know it was a lie. Also, I have never heard him say anything bad about anyone. I’m not even exaggerating. I promise you, I tried to think of at least one thing LOL and couldn’t come up with anything he’s ever said negative about someone.

If I ever said anything semi negative about someone’s situation he would respond with “well, that’s their life” or “that’s not our business”. Basically his nice way of saying “stay out of it Lynn”. LOL

Seriously, #goals.

I’m am so far from perfect but if I wake up and try to #belikeManny more and more everyday I think I’m on the right path. I want my friends and family to know, without a doubt, that I will be there for them when they need me. Knowing someone that can trust me like that truly gives me so much happiness. Dependable, trustworthy, hard working and kind. That’s my Dad and I wanna be just like him when I grow up! 🙂

I would love to hear advice that your Dad gave you growing up!

Wishing you all a wonderful Father’s Day week!
