What To Do And Where To Eat In Atlanta

Happy Friday friends! I wanted to recap our recent anniversary trip to Atlanta. Also, so many of you sweet locals sent over your recommendations so even if we weren’t able to make it there, I am listing them below for those of you who are planning an upcoming trip to Atlanta!

So the majority of the pictures we took (like all 500 of them) show baby Weaver’s face and since I can’t share him with you guys yet I don’t have too many photos to share with you today LOL but I promise the recommendations of what to do and where to go will make up for it!

Where to Shop:

Ponce City Market– Filled with national retailers and also local shops. The food hall has a wide variety of eats too! Skyline Park is located atop the Ponce City Market. It’s like a carnival style vibe with a beer garden and pretty views!

Phipps Plaza

Lenox Square

Where to Eat:

Varsity – We didn’t make it there but I have been told that the hot dogs and burgers are Ah-mazing! You know this girl likes a good burger!

Botiwalla – delicious indian food.

JCT Kitchen – Upscale Southern Food

Bistro Niko –  French cuisine.

Antico – famous for their pizza in Atlanta (so dang good and you can walk across the street to Caffe Antico for gelato!)

Speaking of sweets here are some recommendations for ice cream and dessert:

Ice Cream at Jeni’s and chocolate croissants at The Little Tart.

Breakfast and Brunch Recommendations:

West Egg Cafe

Canvas Café & Bakery

Flying Biscuit

What to See:

Georgia Aquarium – I had no idea but apparently this is the #1 aquarium in the US

World of Coke– So cool to see the evolution of the brand. I love that you can taste 100 flavors from all over the world but of course I just kept getting refills of the one that taste like pink starburst! Baby had his first sip of Coke but he’s not about that life, lol.

CNN Studio Tour– This sounded like a fun thing to do and it’s included in the city pass but I want to forewarn you. The tour consists of 8 flights of stairs and no elevator option so we opted out. Carrying a 25 pound human down 8 flights of stairs with 50 other people just wasn’t on the agenda that day!

SkyView Ferris Wheel– right in the center of downtown and great views, duh.

Zoo Atlanta– I was way more excited to see the panda and gorillas than baby was, haha! But it was so fun taking him to the zoo for the first time. They have twin pandas there so of course we left with a panda stuffed toy 🙂

*all of the attractions above are included in the city pass. I would recommend purchasing one if you plan on visiting the majority of these spots.

Jimmy Carter Library

Martin Luther King Museum

Atlanta Belt Line- We didn’t get to go but many of you said it was a fun spot to rent a bike and ride on a pretty day!

Where We Stayed:

Stay Alfred at The Office – You guys, Brandon booked this (per usual) and it was the most stunning place and the views were phenomenal. All of the walls were covered in windows and I was just like #natuallightinggoals. I highly recommend this spot if you are traveling to Atlanta soon! So chic and contemporary so it had a lot of space for baby to crawl around. It is one of those properties that people actually live in and then they reserve some units for hotel stays.

It was such a great first anniversary trip with baby Weaver. I can’t wait for more to come! I hope you guys enjoyed today’s post.
