Galentine’s Day Ideas + Why We Don’t Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend! The city of Houston is currently preparing every inch of itself for Super Bowl. I must admit it is quite exciting knowing that Houston is hosting it this year!

Not only is Super Bowl quickly approaching, but so is Valentine’s Day AKA Galentine’s Day! Today I will be sharing some fun ideas to celebrate the day of love with your best girlfriend’s and also why my husband and I don’t actually celebrate this well known holiday.

But first things first, this super cute, Galentine’s perfect outfit!

White lace, bow details and Chanel? Yes, yes and more YES! I love that these heels are only $34 and the hot pink hue of this Chanel bag is to-die-for. Maybe I built my whole outfit around it 🙂 Remember Trendlee is such a great spot to get these designer styles for a fraction of the retail price and you can get 5% off using code STYLELYNN.

Okay, so back to the topic at hand, why Brandon and I do not celebrate V-day. The hubby grew up in the Church of God Worldwide which is the church we attend together now. Without getting too deep into it, basically he grew up observing only God’s holy days as mentioned in the bible and that doesn’t include Valentine’s Day 🙂 so we have actually never celebrated this day as a couple! But before you all start feeling sorry for me LOL it doesn’t bother me at all. Our engagement and wedding anniversary is actually on February 15th. Well planned on the hubby’s part I’m sure haha! We celebrate our anniversary as most couples do; with lots of love and always a weekend trip somewhere! So have no fear, love is not falling short in the Weaver household!

So, this gives me all the more reason to get together with my girl’s during this time of year! My single gals especially appreciate this celebration! Below I am listing some fun ideas for a girls day or night out!

Spa day- I mean who doesn’t like a spa day? No makeup needed and you don’t have to worry about what to wear. Just a day of lounging around with your favorite girls, sipping champagne and getting pampered. Count me in!

Pinot’s Palette – This is such a fun thing to do with your girlfriend’s! BYOB and seeing who’s artistic skills are the best! I’ll be honest with you, it’s never mine haha

Dinner and Drinks- This old fashion get together is always fool proof! This way you can all wear that super cute new dress that you bought for no reason and catch up over yummy food!

Girl’s Night In- Bring your best PJ game, favorite bottle of wine and  enjoy each others company! This idea comes to mind because I just got this card game from Francesca’s and I can’t wait to play it, haha!

Give Back with your girls and Kendra Scott- Okay, shameless plug 🙂 but in my defense I did say in Friday’s post here that I was going to write about my Galentine’s Day ideas for you this week 🙂

Ladies, if you are in Houston, my favorite bloggers and I are hosting a Give Back event at Kendra Scott Baybrook on February 5th. Grab your gals for a morning of shopping and mimosas! 20% of proceeds go to a local Houston non-profit organization, Spaulding for children. For more details about this event click here.

What’s your favorite thing to do with your girls? I’d love to hear!

xo, Roselyn
